Norfolk / Re: Robinson brothers
« on: Tuesday 05 November 13 13:17 GMT (UK)  »
Many thanks Liz, yes, I have the whole family. There were 5 brothers the oldest being my 2 x great grandfather Richard Robinson but he was born in 1851 and I agree with Tinam that the 2 men look close in age.  Samuel was IDd after the pic went in the Norfolk Ancestor magazine so I thought it worth a try to put it on here  ;D

Please can anyone identify these Robinson brothers? They lived in the Sprowston area of Norwich 1850-1900, both were brickmakers and sons of Jacob Robinson 1828-1903. The man standing on the left is Samuel b.1870.

Robert 1796 had 8 sons and 1 daughter. Tell which child is in your line then we can expand a bit. Incidentally we have no William born 1791 in our records.

yep, I have Robert's 8 sons/1 daughter

William born 6 Jun 1791 Morley St Peter. I found the story of the murder in local papers and thought he might fit into my tree....... but maybe not.......... also found 2 Roberts, one was imprisoned for bribing voters at Norwich elections in 1868, the other committed suicide in 1899 by prussic acid after cooking the books at his workplace, neither of those fitted into my tree either  ;)

You may already have been using this but there are quite a lot of Hardiments (and variations) on www.freereg.org.uk for Wicklewood, Wymondham etc. Also parish registers from familysearch https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1&region=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND

Might just get you further back

Shirl

Yes I do use both thanks, in fact I'm looking there right now :)

I was actually searching for William Hardiment, born 1791 'on the turnpike road at Wymondham' hanged at Norwich Castle, in 1822, for murder. His parents were William Hardiment and Sarah Lincoln.

Hi again :)
Robert and Mary were my 3 x great grandparents. I'm so pleased to have the next generation, thank you so much. Did they have any other children do you know?

Hi I'm also doing the Hardiments from Wymondham/Wicklewood/Morley St Botolph/Morley St Peter. I'm back to Robert Hardiment (1796-1868) who married Mary Hubbard (1796-1869)

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: 1891 Census - Georgiana Rhodes
« on: Monday 07 May 12 16:30 BST (UK)  »
Hi Linda

Yes, I've found all the rest of the family and all the relevant Census. I believe Harriet was married in 1891 and lived at the address which Georgianna and Alfred gave as their address at the time of their marriage in 1892.

It's just a mystery where Georgianna was on the 1891 Census - it seems Alfred was at home with his parents  :D

thanks for looking, Gill
