Somerset Lookup Requests / Re: JOHN BROOM - CHILCOMPTON

Sheila

Found the following:

1871 Census

John Broom b1820 Chilcompton, Somerset  Furnace Labourer
Ellen Broom b1812 Wigan, Lancs
George Broom b1852 Moseley Hole, Staffordshire Engine Fitter
Adalour Broom b1858 moseley Hole, Staffordshire

1881 Census

John, Ellen and Adalour are recorded as is their daughter-in-law, Harriett Dodd b1832 Willenhall, Staffs (assume son George's wife) and Roland Dodd b1881 Bloxwich (assume George's son)

George himself is not listed so must have been away at the time of the census. The family is listed as living at Moseley Village, Smokey Row 10, Willenhall

1891 Census

Ellen (now age 79) is recorded living on her own at 199 Slow Heath Lane, Willenhall.  could assume John has passed away by this time, Adalour is married and therfore recorded under her married name.

After that I can't track them. Hope this helps anyway.

Denbighshire Lookup Requests / 1841/1851 Census - Foulkes - St Asaph
« on: Thursday 05 May 05 07:45 BST (UK)  »

Hi

I am trying to trace the family of Thomas Foulkes, born 1833 in Rhyl.  I have tracked him from the 1861 to 1901 censuses but I would like to now find out if he appears in the 1841 and 1851 returns.  If anyone out there has access to these returns I would be eternally grateful.

I know that he and his wife, Caroline (b1828 Meliden) must have married around 1850 as their first born child, Edward was born 1851.  However, I can find no record of their marraige either on 1837 online or Ancestry.co.uk - any help here would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
