Hi,
I am sure there is a connection to the Rossier family in Evercreech andDitcheat.
I know there is info on the website regarding marriages in these areas.
I am not on my own pc at the moment but there is a Rossiter researcher on my lists at home due to the Boyce connection in Somerset.
Regards,
Dave Boyce

Somerset Lookup Requests / Burial lookup Boyce / Boice
« on: Monday 14 May 12 12:33 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for the burial of William Boyce born 1816 in Ditcheat Somersetshire.
He could be listed as
William Joseph Boyce / Boice
or Joseph William Boyce / Boice
or even just William Boyce / Boice
as we have conflicting info on the family name
We know he was still alive in 1871 but died before 1891 census.

He may be buried with his wife Jane Boyce / Boice nee Walker who later died on 15 May 1906 age 82 in Pontypridd South Wales ,
but we are still unable to find her burial either so possibly her body went back to Somerset.

Info already obtained -

He was last found on the census 1871 census  at pecking mill Evercreech aged 53 with his wife Jane and children.
RG10 / 2440 f43 pg 1  .

Several of his children then moved over to Pontypridd Glamorgan South Wales shortly after this.

On the 1881 census Jane is in Pontypridd living with her son and his family  age 58,
but it does not show if she is a widow or married  RG11/5293 f 83 pg 3 film 1342274
Pentrebach Road , Pontypridd.

On the 1891 census Jane Boyce is still living with her son and family and now shown as Widow age 68
RG12 /pg33     Gelfran Tce near Rockingstone House,s Pontypridd

I have Jane Boyce who died 15 may 1906 age 82 ( Death Certificate obtained )
but am unable to find her burial in Pontypridd.
I am hoping she has been taken back to Somersetshire and buried with her husband.
They have Jane listed as widow of Joseph Boyce  " Mole Catcher " on Jane Boyce's death certificate .
All help in the Evercreech & Ditcheat or Shepton Mallet area would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Dave Boyce

Thanks Trish,
Much appreciated.
Now I will need to find the actual burial place and info at Ditcheat to tally them both up.

The young boy Edward living with her on the 1851 census is the Grtx3 Grandfather of the famous welsh folk singer MAX BOYCE (OGGY, OGGY OGGY , Oi, Oi, Oi ).
Edwards mother and Ann and my Grt x 4 Grandfather were siblings.

I am looking for members of the Price Family on 1911 census - Abercynon / Penrhiwceiber areas please.
I know they were at the Olde Draenwen in Abercynon on the 1901.

John Price  born 1878  Llanwonno (Mountain Ash)
Mary Price  born 1881 Merthyr Vale
Together with their children

Catherine Price  b.1901 Abercynon.    4 months old on 1901 census (my untie Cass)
Sarah Lizzie Price b.1903 born Abercynon / Llanwonno
Margaret Ellen Price  b. 1906.
Lewis Price b. 1909
William Price  b.1911 (he died the following year)

We know from family history they always lived between Mountain Ash ( Lanwonno ) , Penrhiwceiber and Abercynon.

We are unable to find where they are as John Price's parents are living at 103 Pentwyn Avenue , Penrhiwceiber with several other relatives and occupants they lived with at the Old Draenwen on the 1901 census in Abercynon .

Any Help would be grateful please..

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Re: Pontypridd Union Workhouse

Hi all,

It may be worth possibly checking the records for St Ilan church which is on the top of the mountain at the borderline of Eglwysilan area over towards Abertridwr.

The area ran from the River Taf on the Glyntaf side of Pontypridd town area up over the mountain towards Abertridwr.

I think these may be held at the Ystrad Mynach council offices.

Regards,
Dave

Require help and info from 1911 census.

The person listed as Mary Jane Osborne living in Cardiff age 39.

I need to know if she is listed as born in EVERCREECH or DITCHEAT Somersetshire.
Who is she listed as living with.

MARY JANE BOYCE was born in Somersetshire in 1872 but her father got remarried in 1889 after her mother passed away in 1886. Her siblings also moved to wales.

I got her listed on 1891 census as Mary Boyce Osborne who is Single ( not widowed or divorced ) living with a cousin Joseph Gould in Glyntaf Pontypridd .

Not find her on 1901 census tho.

Regards,
Dave Boyce
