Glamorganshire / Re: Tyfica Road, Pontypridd
« on: Wednesday 20 April 16 10:48 BST (UK)  »
Look for things like Telephone directories and Electoral roles for address info as well for mid. & late 1900s .

A friend has asked me if i can find out about the house that he lives in at 3 Tyfica Road, Pontypridd.

I have an Ancestry account but cannot seem to find out how to search the census records by address only.  I have been able to find the 1911 record - the property was unoccupied bur I am drawing a blank on the others.

Any ideas?

Thanks for everyones help.
I have read this article posted in the Aberdare Leader whicj suggests that WJ Duglan may be the same person as WH Duglan.  Mr Duglan known as Jim locally and worked at the local Co-op store so probably was an accountant before leaving for Rhodesia in 1914 according to the article. Used WH Duglan and WJ Duglan for some unknown reason ??

Apr 1916 • Mountai Ash , South Wales
William J Duglan son of Mr & Mrs Duglan of Brynamlwg Villas Penrhiwceiber ,and who left 2 years ago for South Africa , has joined the Rhodesia Rifle Brigade and is doing well. Worked as Clerical Dept @ Penrhiwceiber Cooperative Society before departure.
The return to London in 1918 aged 25 also fits this info.

Hi , I am looking for Any info on William Henry DUGLAN after 1911 census .
He was born in Penrhiwceiber 1893 Mar qtr 11a483 Pontypridd Registered his parents were John Duglan and Elizabeth Ann Duglan nee Davies.
1911 he was at Brynamlwg House on Penrhiwceiber road , Penrhiwceiber, Mountain Ash (Llanwonno)
some census info has been transcribed wrongly as DYLAS for some unknown reason so wondering if its been put in as something else..
I already have the 1901 and 1911 info Thank you !

Unable to find any further death or burial info on W H DUGLAN after the 1911 census although i know the family lived at that address for many years after.
Dont know if he died in conflict WW1 OR WW2 but unable to find anything !
Any help will be grateful.

 Thanks Suz ,

Excellent . Another relative Benjamin Davies who was a Music Teacher went abroad to live and teach so this would fit as they actually lived in the same houses together .
Thinking about it I recall my uncle Phil telling me a story about my grandfathers cousin Jim who is probably WJ Duglan who went to Rhodesia to live.  Was told that one of them actually gave singing lessons to the Princess Juliana to sing whilst on the ship trip over.
This is not the same person I was looking for WH Duggan but think he must've been the person in Rhodesia in the army as it fits with no info in the uk of him .
Do you know if the Welsh address mentions the words Brynamlwg , Penrhiwceiber, Miskin or Llanwonno.
Thanks for your help  ,

Thanks , think there was two or three Duglan families possibly relatives.  Mountain Ash ( Llanwonno ) Penrhiwceiber and another near Pontypridd.
Jones Street is only a short distance up the road from my relatives so big possibility they are related . William H , William George and William N are born a short time apart. Big possibility they are all related.

This is not the same person I was looking for WH Duglan .
Much appreciated for all your help.

There is a death in the Dec quarter 1930 of a William Duglan aged 56 in Pontypridd reg district. I appreciate the age is out but could it be a typo and should be 36?

Matching probate entry for a William Duglan of 3 Jones Street, Mountain Ash. Death 8 Oct 1930. Probate to John Duglan, colliery blacksmith.

Excellent . A Brother in Law of William Henry Duglan was Sergt Benjamin Davies (RAMC ) went abroad and he was in Zanzibar in 1917 according to an article posted in the Aberdare Leader newspaper 20 Oct 1917,  so this would fit as they actually lived in the same houses together .

William Duglan born 1873 ( Pontypridd Reg ) and died 1930 in Mountain Ash is believed to actually be his uncle .
