Dorset Lookup Requests / 1841 Dorchester look-up please!!
« on: Tuesday 26 July 05 17:03 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find David Barnes and his family in poss. Rushton, Dorchester, Dorset around 1841.

David Barnes H 52 Highwood  labourer
Jane (Payne) Barnes w  55  East Stoke
Edward s 33 Dorchester
Thomas s 31 Dorchester
Andrew s 29 Dorchester
John s 27     "
Jane d 24     "
David s 21      "
Elizabeth d 19      "
Ann d 18           "
Thomas s 15      "
Dinah d 8        "

Any of the Dorchester Censuses would be a big help as I can't seem to get too far back from Elizabeth!!  Have tried the Dorset OPC but there are so many Barnes', its an impossible task.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thank you so much, KD, Bagpuss and DeComyn.

All your information is a great help.  It looks as though Florence in Burghill at 19, is the right one.  Thank you for this DeC.  Am very pleased you discovered Nasmia was really Naomi, I couldn't find a Nasmia anywhere!

I have various census' for different members of the same family Kaye.  1881 for Martin, 1881 for Edwin and 1871 for Lucy Anne. 1861 and 1871 for James and Naomi snr, although the 1871 seems to be missing a bit off the bottom.

Thank you so much all of you for your help.

Kindest regards

Ruth

Dorset Lookup Requests / Re: Look-up for Lytchett Minster 1841!!

Hi Bob,

yes I've been through the Dorset opc website and found all the Lytchett Matravers Crumplers.  All relatives in one way or the other.

The Crumplers from Lytchett Minster are a new link, that I can't seem to find a connection to and I was hoping the 1841 census might hold the birth places for the parents of Thomas, as they don't seem to be anywhere else I've looked.

Kindest regards
