Sussex Lookup Requests / 1891/1901 William Lamper
« on: Thursday 31 August 06 19:40 BST (UK)  »
Please could someone find William Charles Lamper in 1891/1901? He was born in Sompting in c1844. In 1881 he was living in Southwick with his wife Mary A  and daughters Emily R, Mary a and Luc (Lucy?) also son William C. I am hoping that another son Henry has appeared by 1891 and 1901.

Many thanks Thelma

Sussex Lookup Requests / Thomas Bartlett 1851/61/71
« on: Tuesday 06 June 06 18:33 BST (UK)  »
I would like to find Thomas Bartlett bc1785 Sussex. I have him in 1841 living with his wife Hannah (Hebbern) and chn Anne, John, William, James, Susannah, Edward and Emma all born Sussex.

I know they lived in Patcham but am unsure if that is where they originated. Thomas was an Ag lab -that should narrow it down!

I think Thomas died c1877 so it is 1851/61/71 census that should be most help.

Hope someone can help. Thanks Thelma

Sussex Lookup Requests / 1871 Ann and William Trangmar
« on: Sunday 14 May 06 16:35 BST (UK)  »
I have tried before to track this family down in 1871. I have them from 1841-1901 except 1871. They always seemed to be in the Patcham area.
In 1861 they were living with their children Louisa, Martha, and William also a nephew and grandchild.
In 1881 they lived at Cottage Square Patcham with sons Henry and Arthur.
So where were they in 1871? I have tried loads of name variants and many places. I am particularly interested in finding Hannah Tranmar b1844 (my g grandmother). I do not know when or if she got married she had loads of children with James Lamper but if I could find her or her parents in 1871 it may answer some questions.

I really hope someone can track them down. Thanks Thelma

Could someone find Ann Bartlett b1821 Patcham in the 1841 census? Her parents were possibly Thomas Bartlett and Hannah Hebbern. She married William Trangmar on July 23rd 1842. I will be sending for her marriage cert to confirm her father's name but would like to find out more about her family if I can.
Many thanks Thelma

United States of America / James Lamper
« on: Friday 24 February 06 21:39 GMT (UK)  »
This is probably a ridiculous question but here goes. Is there any way of finding out about James Lamper who was born in Holland on 29th Nov 1871? He married Anne Stucki who went through Ellis Island in 1893 and they ended up living in Oregon.

There are several people in the United States who are related to this person and although they know where he was buried and have a great picture of the gravestone and also photos of his parents that is where the trail stops. I have been searching for 'my' Lampers and keep coming across this James so I thought I would ask if anyone has any ideas how to find out more about him.

Many thanks Thelma

Sussex Lookup Requests / 1841 census William Lisher
« on: Thursday 02 February 06 18:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hello again
Could someone see if they can find a William Lisher born Sompting 1801 in the 1841 census. I know very little about him except that his baptism leads me to believe that he was an ilegitimate son of my ggg grandmother Elizabeth Lisher. After her marriage to John Lamper the children were baptised as Lamper or Lamport. I suppose that he may have taken over the family name later.
Many thanks Thelma
