Norfolk / Charlotte Miriam Howman.
« on: Tuesday 12 March 13 08:43 GMT (UK)  »
I wondered if anyone could help me find the birth of Charlotte Miriam Howman, born 1870 Long Sutton Norfolk. I can't find a record of her birth and I would have thought it would have been compulsory in 1870.
Thanks Lizzy Drippin.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / William Colt.
« on: Thursday 28 February 13 15:49 GMT (UK)  »
Hi again,  I have just received the death certificate for William Coult, which I think is probably the right one. ( I asked for help in finding him a couple of months ago). His occupation is a Wagoner and the person in attendance is Edward Little, not as I was hoping a family member and the only address for both of them is Howden. The cause of death is Consumption not certified, does this mean it is what they assume he died of? On past certificates, I have thought the person in attendance was probably nursing the deceased, but I have found Edward Little on the 1841 census and he is a wheelwright, so I wonder if William collapsed and died, while at work,  would that make Edward in attendance?
I know his wife is a widow and living in Bubwith on the 1851 census, so they were certainly in that area.
Thanks Lizzy drippin.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Arthur and Matilda Goacher.
« on: Saturday 23 February 13 16:24 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for any information about Arthur and Matilda Goacher/Goucher.  Arthur was born 1897 Rotherham and Matilda 1898 Rotherham. I can not find a birth for either of them, in fact the only record of them is on the 1901 census at Rotherham Workhouse.
Thanks Lizzy Drippin.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Emily Dawson
« on: Wednesday 20 February 13 10:38 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for information about Emily Dawson born Rotherham 1883. I can't find any information about her until she marries in 1905 Rotherham. No father on the certificate and her mother died shortly after she was born. Witness Harry Neatby, so I looked at him and found him on the 1901 census married to Anne Noble and she has a sister Emily Noble, who could be Emily Dawson, maybe. Emily Dawson's address on the marriage certificate is 62 Midland road, the same address Harry and Anne are living at on the 1911 census. I can't find either Emily Dawson or Noble on the 1891 census. Why the Noble family would have adopted Emily,  if they did I have no idea.
Any insight would be appreciated Lizzy Drippin.

Can someone help please. I am looking for information about William Colt or Coult born Adlingfleet 1784. He married Joan or Joanne Brunyee at Crowle Lincolnshire in 1810. I can't find him on any census or his death. Joan, I do have information about, but I can't find her on the 1841 census. she is living with her daughter, in Bubwith on the 1851 census.
Thank you Lizzy.

Derbyshire / Joseph Senior.
« on: Tuesday 15 January 13 10:26 GMT (UK)  »
I asked for help in finding a marriage for Joseph Senior to Ann Wheelhouse and someone suggested a marriage in Rotherham in 1838. Well I can't thank them enough, because it was correct, they are both listed as living in Rotherham, although they were born in Killamarsh and are living in Killamarsh on the 1841 census. I do have another question they have stated both full age, which I don't think they were, so does anyone know if this would be checked or would they be taken on trust.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Annie Conway 1901.
« on: Monday 07 January 13 11:53 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, my question is a, could a single women register a birth in the child's father's name without his knowledge or even lie and say she was married. b, I am looking for a birth certificate for Annie Conway born around 1901. I have a marriage certificate (1925 Rotherham) stating her father was Joseph Conway, her mother was Sarah Goacher. They should be on a 1911 census somewhere.
Thank you Lizzy.
