Cumberland / Re: BLACKBURN - Margaret, John
« on: Thursday 25 August 05 15:07 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I have just come across your message about Margaret Blackburn, she is on my family tree born 1834 at Dearham, her father Joseph/Joshua is my gt.gt. grandfather. I haven't found a marriage for her until she marr. Andrew Robson, when she already had two sons, William bap. Jan. 1855, died April 1874, and John Joseph bap.1857.
Margaret was the eldest, her mother was Ann/Nanny Highmore born 1808 at Dearham. Her father died Oct.1864, aged 64 and is buried at Gilcrux churchyard, sometimes his name is Joseph, Joshua, or the only baptism I could find which fitted was for a Jesse bap. 1802 at Wigton.
I was very interested to hear they had emigrated to Nebraska, as on the death certificate for Ann/Nanny Blackburn the informant was her granddaughter Annie Robson.
I hope this helps and maybe we can exchange some more info.  Margaret.

Hello, I have just come across your message about the name neen, I have it on my tree as Kneen, a John Alfred born abt 1867 in the Isle of Man, he married Sarah Blackburn in 1896 at whitehaven, but I think they were living at Arlecdon. Found they had one son, Harold b.1897. On 1901 census they were living in Arlecdon, but there is a connection with Barrow in Furness. Sarah Blackburn was my father's aunt.
Hope this helps. Margaret.

Hello, John Jarvis Dalby was born in Leicester in 1824, as was hiis wife Hannah. In 1890 they were living at Broughton House, 20 Victoria St. Blackpool, maybe they hadn't moved to Upper Talbot St. when the census was taken. It is the birthplace of their daughter I really want to know.  Yes it is my family on the 1901 census. Thanks.
