I'd say it's an abbreviation of either the name or a qualification, something like Manning or Esquire.

Can we see a bit more of the document so we see it in context. And the type of documenet and year?
Think its against the rules to show too much?

Hi folks, i,m trying to find a marriage of John Ellis and Esther or Hester. I think their first child was born 1750 (Ellis) in the Llancylin/Llanfor area. Thanks

Shropshire / Re: The Lane family

Just hoping someone can help move us in the right direction with this Lane family.
It doesn't help when everyone you're looking at is Thomas and Mary,it would be nice to have some different names to follow.
So any info to guide me along the right lines would be most welcome.
Thanks.
Ha welcome to my world >:(
