Family History Beginners Board / Out of Ideas
« on: Wednesday 28 August 13 20:10 BST (UK)  »
I've lost track of my G Grandmother Elizabeth Bown.  In 1841 shes living with her family in West Cranmore Somerset, and the next time I find her is in 1862 on her marriage in London.
I've checked her address as shown then on the '61 census but shes not living there.
Any ideas please as I'm getting frustrated  ::)

Can anyone tell me if/where I would be able to access details of an inpatient of Broadmoor.
It was over 100 years ago as I seem to remember that such records are sealed for that time.
Thanks in advance

I read this in a small book of epitaphs I had ... it is supposed to be genuine  :)

Here lies Mary the wife of John Ford
We pray her soul has gone to the Lord
If for Hell she forsook this life
She better be there than John Fords wife

My GG Grandfather James Begbie is listed as being a portrait painter or artist on various census throughout his lifetime.  He lived near Regents Park London which I would have thought was a  fairly prosperous area.  Googling him doesnt have any results, but I wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of someone or somewhere who may have some knowledge of his paintings?

Many thanks

Thanks Jan - I think thats it.  I'd forgotten about scarletina and couldnt make it say scarlet fever.
Poor child was just 3, but the family were reletively lucky as this was the only child they lost so young.

Goodness me - thanks Tom.  I'm in Wiltshire so will be on the phone.
Looks lovely - perhaps I'll visit one day.
