This John Paulin is a bit of a mystery. The information of John Paulin is interesting ,but with so many differing dates for baptism dates and places it seems possible that this is my john. However a now deceased relative was sure that William took his little daughter Lizzie to new Zealand in 1865 and stayed with John somewhere near Wellington. He left to get married in Melnboune in 1869. Thanks for looking up electoral and marriage records. The mention of a john Paulin in British prison records makes me think. that I could look at convict records. He may have lived in Australia for a while.
Thank you for everybody for taking time to look up records for me.There is plenty for me to work on over the weekend.
Cheers

Hi
Thank you for the information about Walter. I didn't realise that he was born in N.Z. I had his death year but not the other information. I think that his children were Grace and Allan but I don't know anything about them.  I am grateful if you can find anything about them. All of the elderly relatives who could give me information have passed on, unfortunately.

The only information I have about John is that he was christened c1815 at Limehouse London and was the son of George Paulin and Elizabeth Raymond. he is not on the 1841 census .He had 4 brothers who came to Melbourne in the 1850s.in a letter I received from a cousin some years ago, she said his brother William went to new Zealand and stayed with him during 1865 and 1869 somewhere near Wellington. I don't know if he married. Where would I look for early new Zealand marriages please. Family also said that John was a seaman but no one knew anything about his life.
Thanks

I am trying to find information about John Paulin who was living in new Zealand , possibly around Wellington or top of the South Island. He was a seaman, possibly a whaler and was known to be there from 1860 to 1870, as we have evidence of an Australian relative stopping with him during those years. John was born in London 1815-1816.I am wondering if possibly there ore early census or electoral rolls that I could look up. Can anybody advise where I might find a seaman who may have settled in these areas please.
Thanks for your help.

Could anyone please tell me if the Victorian Protestant federation of Melbourne is still in existence.
My 2x great Uncle Walter Samuel Bennett was the secretary of the Port Melbourne branch before his death in 1920 and A letter from him is the only piece of information about him that I have. I would like to find out more about his life if possible. he was married to Grace Smith, his 2nd marriage and left 2 children when he died. Grace Bennett died in 1962.
Thank you

Thanks Janette, I hadn't thought about looking on Google.
From what I was told yesterday Elsie and William were living in an apartment in Auckland after the marriage in 1920 and also when their son Edward was born in 1921. Unfortunately know body knows where as most of the family have died ,including Edward. It was sometime later, possibly 1924/25 that they were living at her parents place when she died in 1929.I haven't found where they were living in the earlier years.
Thanks again for everybodys help.
