Buckinghamshire / Places in Bradwell
« on: Tuesday 18 October 05 16:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Is there anyone with local knowledge of New Bradwell?

Firstly my Clamp ancestors were living at 154 and 153 Top Street in New Bradwell in 1871 to 1891.  On the 1901 census they were living at 14 and 16 Bridge Street.  Are these streets one and the same, they just changed name?

Also, my dad was born at Wharf House, New Bradwell, which I believe was at his Clamp grandmothers.  Does anyone know whereabouts in New Bradwell that would be?

I visited a few years ago, but my dad was no longer about, and although my mum went with me, she was becoming senile and couldn't help much, although she was better with Wolverton, her place of birth.

Thanks,
Diane

Bedfordshire Completed Look ups / 1871 lookup request. Husborne Crawley
« on: Tuesday 18 October 05 15:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Would someone be able to do a look up in the 1871 census for the following family of Husborne Crawley:

John Carwell Cook aged about 53 and wife Sarah of same age, and any children still living with them, particularly son John (about 14).

They may be named just Carwell or just Carvell or just Cook, or any combination of the above!  They tended to chop and change!!

I would be interested to see if John's father, William is still around, aged about 86, as I have been unable to find his death so far.

Thank you very much,
Diane

Bedfordshire Completed Look ups / 1851 look up request, Husborne Crawley
« on: Friday 07 October 05 15:12 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Is there a kind person who would be able to look up the following family on the 1851 census for Husborne Crawley please:

William Carwell (aged 66) and wife Mary (aged 68) and son Edward.

My father looked this up years ago, but from his rough notes I cannot find the place of birth of Mary.  William came from Wavendon, Bucks.   I'm really hoping Mary came from Salford, Beds, as that would mean I have finally found their marriage!

Thanks,
Diane

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / 1851 and 1871 census look-up request
« on: Sunday 11 September 05 14:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Is there anyone who could look up the following family for me please?  ( I have requested this before for 51, but no luck, so trying again because this family is frustrating me  ???)

They were Thomas and Bridget Milligan and their daughter Catherine.   Catherine was born in 1845 and they were living in Hull.   I would like to find them in 51 when Catherine was about 6.  Thomas was a mariner.

In 1861 Bridget and Catherine were living in Ripon, and Bridget wasaged 40, widowed and a travelling hawker (birthplace Ireland).

Catherine had married and was living in Hull in 1871. I would love to find Bridget, assuming she was still alive.  I'm hoping to find details of a county in Ireland to help me find her birth.

Thank you if you can help,
Diane

« on: Saturday 13 August 05 15:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm not sure I've got the correct Riding  ???

Could someone please look up Thomas and Elizabeth Shaw on the 41 census please.

They are from Osbaldwick, but by 1851 Thomas was widowed and living with his son John and family in Haxby.

Thomas would be about 66 in 1841.

Thank you,
Diane   :)

Completed Leicestershire Lookup Requests / 1841 lookup request, Walcote
« on: Saturday 13 August 05 15:12 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

This is a long shot, but could someone please have a look on the 1841 census to see if they can find an elderly William Townsend or his wife Mary in Walcote.

I don't know when they died, and it is very possible it was before 1841 because William was probably born in the 1770s.

Thank you,
Diane   :)

Hi,

Is there anyone who could look up William and Ellen Luck for me on the 41 and 51 Beverley census please?

Unfortunately I don't know many details.  I do not know Ellen's dob, but William may have been born in 1770.  They married in 1796.

Thanks if you can help,
Diane

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / 1861 census lookup request, Stewkley
« on: Friday 12 August 05 16:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Is there anyone who can look up the Smith family of Stewkley on the 1861 census, please?

Namely:  Benjamin and Mary Smith and their younger children.  Benjamin would be about 63 and Mary 62, and their youngest daughter, Sarah would be 15 if still at home.

In 1851 the family lived at Orchard Lane, Stewkley and Benjamin was an agricultural labourer.

Thank you,
Diane

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / 1841,51 Lookup request, Bow Brickhill
« on: Friday 12 August 05 15:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Is there anyone who could look up someone on the 41 and 51 censuses please?  She was married in Bow Brickhill, and had her children there, so she was probably still living there.

I'm looking for Elizabeth Leach (nee Jennings) (possibly born about 1772), who was widowed by 1841.  She may have been living with one of her children and family (children = Joseph (b. 1799), Sarah (b 1793) and John (b 1796).  I believe she didn't die until after 1851.

Thank you,
Diane
