Robert Muircroft, [Service No S/3610, 9th Bat. Seaforth Highlanders.

He was a coalminer living at Allan Villa, Lowvalleyfield, Fife after moving from Motherwell about 1912. He was the starting point in the search of my family tree. One of my chores when visiting my Grandmother was polishing her Brass's which included the 'brass penny' given to Jessie C Muircroft.

Looking for the death of Elizabeth Farrell [Rowley] at Garlands, Penrith. She had a son Michael Farrell about 1889 and he was in a workhouse by 1997 as his mother had died and his father Michael Farrell was living with Elizabeth Bowness [Rylands]. He did not live with his father's new family.  [from old British Newspapers.]

Trying to find where some of my ancestors are buried.

G. Grandparents - George Brown 1861 - 16/1/1929 died at Glasgow Cancer Hospital. Lived at Lower Carbarns, Wishaw.  His wife Margaret [Young] Brown 1864 - 3/10/1938 died at Shields Road, Motherwell.

G.G. Grandparents - Robert Moorcroft/Muircroft died 14/12/1915 at the Law.  His wife Margaret [Moffat] Moorcroft/Muircroft died 16/6/1901 also at the Law.

There were cottages near Hopetoun house called Crawstane.  Does anyone know the origin of the name.

Looking for Info on the village of Conlig. my GGrandfather Robert Montgomery was born there 1855. His parents were Joseph and Sarah Finlay, she died in Newtownards Infimary. Robert married Margaret McLement at Ballygrainey church 1878.
