Bedfordshire / Re: Burial for my great uncle stephen parker
« on: Monday 02 October 17 17:00 BST (UK)  »
His birth certs says he was born on limbury rd but no number. Not sure if he was born in a house they did have a gypsy wagon so he may have been born under it or in a tent or in a house. I looked on the google map and some of the cottages did look as if they were built before 1915. couldnt see a church nearby will try and see if there is a possible church in that parish.
Thankyou for your help.

Bedfordshire / Burial for my great uncle stephen parker
« on: Monday 02 October 17 15:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi. I have just discovered my great uncle Stephen parker died at 5 days old in the workhouse infirmary in Luton on the 14 th april 1915. Poor wee man had Imperforate anus which i had never heard of till i read his death cert. So i was wandering if anyone had any thoughts where he might be buried. Did the workhouse have a grave yard was there a church yard near by. Im assuming that  he lived long enough to be baptised so he could go in a church yard.
Thanks Tracey

Hello all. I wander if someone might be able to point me in the right direction for the burial of Kisby draper 1882-1932. He spent a lot of time in Leighton Buzzard, his parents lived on Bassett rd, Leighton Buzzard. Is there a cemetery near there which was in use in 1932.
Thankyou Tracey

Derbyshire / Death date for Eliza Johnson, formerly gill.

Hi everyone. I wander if i might be able to get some help pinning down the death date for me of my 3 x great granny. I have tried before and had no luck. So i wandered if someone here might see something i am missing for continuously looking and banging my head on the wall. This is her timeline as i have it.
She was born Eliza Calladine 31st May 1846 on Newbold Moor to Jarvis and Eliza nee Bostock (his cousin). They are a family of pot hawkers who would winter in whittington moor derby to buy new stock and then move off come spring moving there way down the country till they got to Wales.
1851 census they are in Llanelly, Breconshire.
1861 census they are in Neath, Glamorgan.
23rd sept 1866 Parish church, Chesterfild marriage to Edward Gill
24th oct 1867 birth of only child Samuel Gill. Unstone.
25th Oct 1871. seperated from Ed. He prosecuted her, her dad, brother Bill and sister Betsy for taking all the household goods after she left him.. He got the lot back.
Jan 8th 1875 whittington Moor she was walking to Unstone when she got robbed.
Oct 5th 1875 court for above.
1881 census she is missing but Edward and Son Samuel are living with his new bigamous wife Sarah in unstone.
Dec 1882 Edward Gill killed in an accident at unstone colliery. Both Eliza and Sarah attended the inquest and funeral as his wife. Newspapers loved that.
3rd Nov 1884 Newbold wedding to William Johnson (father in law of Eliza's brother Charles) he was from another pot hawking family from Whittington moor.
23rd June 1888 Dronfield. As Eliza Gill drunk with a John Cunningham.
7th March 1891 Whittington moor. Eliza Johnson with Matilda Gill (her daug in law) assualted by Henry Harrison, Eliza's sister Jemima's husband.
26th March 1892 Whittington Moor another argument this time with Elijah Hallam her sister Betsey's husband. This time she called herself Eliza Gill.
25th May 1895 Back as Eliza Johnson with John Cunningham again and he beat her up.

Now there is an Eliza Johnson with a husband William in Newbold in the 1881 and 1891 census but i have worked out this Eliza is nee Huff. This lady died in Newbold in 1912.
I have a possible death for her in Derby in dec 1921 bn c1849. Seems possible to me that she stayed in Derby. Her only child Samuel died in 1910 but his partner Matilda and there children stayed in Derby. I can not find her in any census or any thing else about her. Would so like to pin her down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Tracey

Hi Dave yes makes sense. I have come across all those in my research. I especially like Tennis. what a name. Cinderella is interesting to me as well because my 3 xx gg Alfred, brother of despair also has  a Cinderella so i am sure these families must be connected. I do need to do some more work on this lot but as you say it is difficult. In fact i find this branch of the Loveridges very difficult and frustrating. They do not make life easy. I am sure though they are all connected given they come from the same areas and seem to cross over a lot with each other. Will have another look at all my stuff and see if i have anything else in my notes. Do you have a tree on ancestry.I do have a cousin who is very intrested in Thomas and Susan as there son John is his great gdad, so related to you to.
Also are you a member of the Rtfhs. This months journal has an article about the Thorpes.

I know of Thomas and Susan. There daughter Tryphena had 3 girls who partnered 3 brothers who were my great gran's brothers. Also there son John partnered Mariah Parker my 2 x great gran Eliza's sister .
I have your Caroline down as Selina though. Are you down from one of Lena/Carolina/selina and William's kids.
Susan Parker i have as the daughter of Willim and Eliza. There is a possible connection with my 3 xgg Comfort Parker but i havent found it yet.
Now Thomas though i can not pin down, what have you found tht connects home to William and Trainet who i have heard of also.
(by the way Despairs who this thread is for is my 4 x great uncle)
