Australia / Didgerido Coffee Shop, Carlingford
« on: Friday 14 June 13 06:50 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone remember the Coffee Shop called "The Didgeridoo" on Pennant Hills Road, Carlingford, N.S.W. Australia?   It used to be nick -named "The Didge"
Don't suppose anyone can help with a photo or how to trace one?

I am led to believe that Roy Baldwin (from Australia I presume) married an Ivy May ?   (who was from Coonamble N.S.W. Australia )  in Napier, New Zealand.  Marriage would have been around 1920.
How do I find this marriage?  I am only guessing but I think Roy would have been born around 1900.  He had a son called Neville R.J. Baldwin born 1924 (in Australia)
Any help on how to find this marriage certificate or details would be most appreciated.

Thanks everyone for your good advice.  I will endeavor to put your ideas into practice.
So, I'll flatten, store in something acid free AFTER I take photos of them and store in the computer and on disc.  Very sensible.   Thanks again

Thanks everyone for your help......I now move on.  How can I trace the parents of James McKay Bishop b. abt.1837 Cape of Good Hope, Sth. AFrica. Did 1887 OFS.  He married Mary E. Venables.
in 1867.
Can you get a death certificate of James McKay Bishop from South Africa?  If you did would that show his parents names & details?
I can't seem to find James McKay Bishop anywhere.  Cheers

Wow - how exciting when you get replies. Thanks everyone.
I am still somewhat confused about who Herbert John Vanables married: Was it Helga or Olga?
Am I right....it would seem if it was Helga (she was in the Lunatic Asylum in Bloemfontein) then perhaps Herbert John V. was able to remarry Alice Janette ??   and they had 3 daughters, Maureen, Rosemary,  & Kathleen.
Yet, still later Herbert John V.'s D/N says he was married to Alice Janette and living with another woman (something like J.M.Enties)
Is this was all the replies are saying??  Would love to get the photos etc. will post my email through the personal messaging box.  I am happy to swap any info I have.
My daughter has just married a Bishop (originally from Sth. Africa and I am trying to trace his tree for him and his family.  Herbert John Vanables would be his grandfather.  Thanks again

Kinsy,   I'm not much further advanced.  Can't get dates of birth, death etc. from Sth. Africa - the relatives don't know them.
All I have is Herbert John Vanables (known as John) had a sister Rosemary (still no dates) but she was older than Herbert.  Her married name was O'Neill (still no dates)
The family say that Herbert (John) V. Bishop married an Olga but I notice that you have her as Helga E. Vlotman( I guess it could have been a nickname etc.)
From South Africa I am told that the other side of the family are Vlotmans.
Is this still your family tree?   In anticipation with thanks
