thank you this is what worries me the most i think.that elizabeth is from somewhere compleatly different from where the census says.thus leaving me with a dead end.i am gratefull for your help.dwalin

not sure of the answer
i only know that as a child our letters
 had northumberland on the end
on speaking to a few old friends a lot of them still put it as northumberland.

maybe my dad had it wrong

hi i wonder could anyone look up a birth for

william davison born 1806 in shotley.
i think his parents were francis davison and ann lowery.
would like to confirm it

also i wonder if a look up could be found for a
elizabeth bell born 1816 in shotley.
have no idea on parents as struggling with her

all birth places taken from census reports.

thank you both so much its very kind of you
i have been searching for elizabeths parents for a long time
but with the surname of bell its hard work.
as for why they married in gateshead im still wondering that one.

lol thats my other problem shotley is northumberland
but this is the only marriage that fits.
although when i lived in felling in gateshead as a child
we had northumberland on our letters not durham.
sadly im in the midlands now or my researching would be so much better

hi yes all the census reports state she was born in
shotley or shotleyfeilds in 1816
that would of made her 19 yrs old.

hi i think my granparents
william davison and elizabeth bell
 were married in gateshead
on the 11 april 1835.
i have the name of williams parents and im searching for elizabeths parents.
wondered what there marriage cert in 1835 would hold in way of info and how to find out

could someone help me
why would my ggg grandad get married in gateshead when all other censuses and such refer to him being from shotley.
his wife was born there also.

his name was william davison and hers was elizabeth bell

i have found a marriege entry 14, 11 ,1835 in gateshead

this is the only marriege i can find with the correct names.

i have there childrens birth certs as proof of mothers maiden name.

william was a mason.not sure how i go back from this .
