Essex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: John Bowles Linggood

Wow, thank you so much for the responses!  That was so quick!
I have been trying to figure out where Frederick J fitted in for a while, now that I know he had two wives it all slots into place!
If anyone is researching the same family, I have photographs of both William James and Frederick J, I knew they were brothers, but hadn't found Fredericks mother.

Next challenge will be John Bowles lol...

Thank you again for everything ... when I have compiled it all in order I will put it on here so that anyone else following the same tree will see it.

Regards

Hello there
Thanks for responding so quickly!

I have Edward Edwin born in Tranmere, Lancashire in 1832.
In several following census returns, his parents are listed as having been born in Shropshire.

I don't know if the marriage records have parental details as far back as 1832, as I thought the record keeping appeared to change as of 1838?

Thanks everso!

Hi

I am looking for the birth of Edward Lowe C1801, in Shropshire.
He is the father of Edward Edwin, and grandfather of James Henry Lowe, my husbands ancestors.
He married an "Ann", but again we have no idea when, only that she too was born in Shropshire.

This information was gleaned from the 1841 and 1881 census'.

Does anyone share this ancestor in common with us?

I know there are local OPC's but as yet have found nothing of any use to me in respect to this ancestor.

Many thanks

Emma

Essex Completed Lookup Requests / John Bowles Linggood
« on: Monday 26 October 09 05:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there

I am hoping somebody will be able to resolve a mystery I have.

My husbands great grandfather, is John Bowles Linggood, the illegitimate son of Honor Linggood and John Bowles.

He was born in 1831, and I believe had other illegitimate children, one to an Elizabeth Brown I am aware of in local records.

Honor went on to marry a "John Byford" with whom she had four other children

I would love to know where he came from, or whom he ended up marrying.  I believe he stayed in the Essex area, as there is a record for his death.

I would really appreciate any help you could offer me in finding him.

Thankyou for that I really appreciate the help.
I have been hoping to go to London for a while, but with the current problems there I think holding off is the best idea unfortunately.
Think I may save it for Christmas time, then hubby can take me to the West End too lol ....

I am looking at my in-laws family who appear to have come from in and around Rayleigh in Essex.
The family name is Linggood.
I would be really interested to hear from anyone also looking at this name.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Kellys 1940's London area

Hi there

I am trying to locate residents of Essex Road in Manor Park between 1943-1953.  Can anyone tell me if there is a Kelly available for this time.  It was No.99.
I believe the occupants were Jose Bilbao and Ethel Louise Bilbao.  However, I believe they also had lodgers.
Also, the residents of 6 Dunbar Road, Forest Gate between 1935-45.  Again I believe the residents were Bilbao.

I am not sure where else to look, I thought about trying the local newspapers there, to see if anyone locally may remember the residents, but it seems a long shot this many years later.

Can anyone help, or give me an idea of where else it may be worth looking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Emma
