Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Stanley Perry Chapman- GRO numbers required
« on: Saturday 23 December 17 08:45 GMT (UK)  »
He died 2nd Feb and  left a will - his address was not in Liverpool
Crewood Cottage  Ball Lane   Kingsley  Warrington

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills  - you want page 16  Costs £10 to buy a copy which you download
I have just been into the probate site and looked for Chapman only because it said there was nothing for P Chapman. It only goes to page 15. Have I missed something or done something wrong

If you use FreeBMD.org.uk, you don't need the wife's surname?
But having said that, there are a lot of Stanley Chapman marriages in Lancashire between 1940 and 1983!

There is a Stanley P Chapman marriage in 1969 - can't mention the wife's name as she may still be living.

Thank you for your reply. However, as you may have noticed Rosie came up with her surname (Stanley's wife). No, she is not alive anymore. Thank you again

Hi Carole W,
I am gobsmacked, I didn't think anyone would be about at this time so would have to wait. (I'm in New Zealand).
Ok first thank you lots for your replies. If I can go through them. The numbers you gave me are the exact ones I sent to the GRO in England wanting to buy a copy of his death. The GRO told me they were not the ones they want so will try again.
Yes that is the address he was living in at the time of his death. I just wondered why Liverpool but I guess it was the nearest hospital. He died of a heart attack.

It is such a mixed up family re surnames. As I explained both people were my Grt grandfathers children, his surname being Perry. I can understand why she reg. in her maiden name of Woollen. Stanley obviously used the perry name as well as the Chapman name which was the last man his mother lived with.
His sister, Mary Rose was born approx. 1929. She married a Reginald William Richardson, it says on the cert. Mary Rose Pearson formally known as Mary Rose Woollen. It appears her mother was with a man (married or not) called Mr Pearson. It also states she was a spinster?? I thought unmarried women were spinsters. I might go and look under pearson for both their births. I have the marriage cert. The family was living at 144 midgeland road Blackpool. Mary (Stanley's sister went on to have two children who she had with William Richardson. :). She did remarry much later on to a man in Spain where she lived for many years.

Thank you lots and lots great xmas present.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Stanley Perry Chapman- GRO numbers required

 :'(Hi all,
I am trying to get the death details. I have the death registration details which are not good enough for the GRO people. I am looking for a person who maybe able to look quicker than me for the numbers. As I said I have the vol. and page numbers. The registration details are as follows: (from family search)

Stanley Perry Chapman, 1st qrt of 1995, Liverpool Lancs. Under "event place" which I take to mean where he died is Liverpool, Lancs. It says his birth date is 22nd Oct. 1922. His mothers nee name was Woollen. She had several men in her life apart from Stanley's father who was Thomas Perry.  One was a chap called Mr Chapman. As you can see Stanley took both names. I haven't been able to find a birth or marriage for Stanley (I think his wife's name may have been Mary).
Stanley had a sister also named Mary Rose who was born 1929..

All help really much appreciated.

Europe / Re: birth details wanted - France after 1838

Many of the areas we now think of as "Paris" are actually in other departments surrounding the city of Paris itself - so if you can't find births/deaths it may be because they were lost in the fire but the family moving to somewhere near to but not actually in Paris is another option.

Incidentally, if you look at deaths under Boval you can see:
Jean Baptiste Boval d. 11 Nov (9bre) 1823, 7ème
and under Touchard (women are normally found under their maiden names, the original may name her as "Vve Boval"), a possible for his wife:
Anne Louise Touchard, d. 23 Jan 1847, 7ème.

At http://www.geneaservice.com, a site I often use for records for Paris and surrounds (you do need a free login, and full details are charged), there appears to be a Anne Melanie Boval death in Banlieue parisienne deaths, 1893-1902 - worth checking to see if this is your lady or a relative. Sometimes these records are duplicated on Ancestry.

Thank you for that info. There is such a lot of info to be had if you know where to look, forums like this are good value.
There is a possibility that the Jean Baptiste above may have been Anne Melanie Boval's father as she was born in 1820 and this man died 1823, also it looks like  the Anne louise Touchard is likely to be her mother although on the marriage reg. her full name was Jeanne. I will go back into the site for deaths and see if I can hunt them out.

Modertor comment: the topic title of the first post has been amended. It is this title that shows on the Rootschat forum.

They lived at 16 Rue Pastourelle, 3rd Arrondissement.

Just a bit of information that might be useful you and other researchers if you are not aware of it is that the numbers of the districts in Paris changed in 1860 after the incorporation of some surrounding villages into the city.

Rue Pastourelle is in the 3ème now but before 1860, don't think it was - it looks more like 8ème.  That said, I can't for the moment find whether the old or new numbers were used for the reconstitution of the Paris civil registration for events prior to 1860.  For what it's worth.

Judith

hank you. Its little bits of information like that that if not known can keep you looking for ages and getting nowhere.
