Canada Lookup Request / Re: Lena Heywood
« on: Sunday 16 January 22 17:20 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you so so much for this info on Lena Heywood..  I'm a descendant of Charlotte Leach (nee LUNE) who married Lena's brother Richard Leach in Toronto, April 1930. I would dearly love to trace Lena's descendants which may hopefully uncover more stories/Info on Richard and Charlotte. I think they may have been 'close knit'. I have Richard and Charlottes 's death details...

I may need to 're-post' under Lena Winfield. Was there a second marriage for Lena ?...

Thanks, Graham

... thanks Heywood. Yes I had noticed that previosuly myself and followed that line of enquiry but again drew a blank unless I've missed something  :-\

Hi again Rosie - thanks again for showing an interest  :).  In 1851 Martha is in St Giles in Feilds, Finsbury (minus Michael) with children Maria, Edward and Catherine.  In 1861 Martha is with her son Edward in Birmingham both living with her married daughter Maria (by now Maria Rout) and family.   I have Michael's death cert from 1855 registered Birmingham. I have gone forward to 1871 and later but there are no links to help with going back further.

The only link I've been able to establish with their london heritage is the 'pearl trade'  :-\. until I discovered the Roman Catholic baptisms yesterday.

I do welcome your help, and thoughts... have I missed anything do you think?

Graham

...following on...

I still cannot find baptisms for Michael GIBBONS c.1813,  Nicholas GIBBONS ,c1823.

Also, cannot locate Nicholas in 1841 census, after finding him in 1851, 1861. he died 1864.

any help/info at all would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Graham

... brilliant! Thanks Heywood.  Would you be able to send me the image at all please? I'd love to see it.

Thanks a million.  Hopefully this is a great lead..

Any further help going back would be very welcome also.

I still have a feeling that may be the Gibbons' originated from Ireland so if anyone can point me in the right direction for researching Irish settlers in London  I would be very grateful.

no worries Rosie - many thanks for your input.

.... Think I've found Nicholas in 1851, St pancras, married to Elizabthe. Occ. Pearl worker, same as Michael so perhaps they are brothers. I can't find catholic baptisms for Nicholas. Haven't been able to establish Michael' s exactly either but there are 2 possibilties I think, father Richard or Anthony... in Roman Catholic registers.
