Samuel Kernes was my great great grandfather. Married to Mary Hogg. He had 5 - 6 children, Sammy his son was my grandfathers dad.  I have managed to trace most family more recently but am stuck with finding more on Samuel Sn and Mary.

Thanks Gerry apparently they were only on vacation from South Africa with their younger daughter Cynthia (quite a rebel).  They believed trying to introduce her to proper London society might help....
Both daughters Daphne Eileen and Cynthia Gerard as well as their spouses have sinced passed away (John Ness Kernes and Claus...Rodseth respectively).
Daphne was my grandmother, and following finishing high school, I stayed at 'aunty Cynthia's' for a bit.  If you need any of the South African info or photo's I am happy to share.
I am interested in finding out about where 'Berty' came from.  As a very small girl, I remember visiting him, but I hid behind a chair and ate cinnamon biscuits!!  He did marry again and the 'new' wife always bought us (13 great grand children) slippers for Christmas.

Thanks too Neil, I am going to try searches with his parents names.

If you require stuff from me - (*) - I tried attaching a photo of him and Granny Burns, without success, sorry.

Thanks for the help guys, Jean

My Great Grandfather Bertram Edward Nolan was born in Sydney in May of 1883.  At some stage he travelled to South Africa where he had 2 daughters.  Any assistance would be appreciated.
