I have not found a burial, but I did think that most people are cremated today, I do not know how many crematoria there are in Birmingham, not being from the West Midlands, Regards, Lydia

I am trying to find the burial/cremation of Margarite/Margaret Alice Beale who died Oct-Dec 2006 in the Birmingham area. The last known address was Perry Barr. Her husband was Leonard Arthur Beale who died Aug 1988. Lydia Field.

No, I do not think this to be correct. Thomas John Ridley was born in Middle Rainton, Durham, his father was David
John Jude was born 1822 to Robert & Isabella Jude of Newcastle

I will email the archives and see if they hold the Broomland records and I will get in touch with the register office to see if the mother's maiden name is Biggins. Bigness seems to be the Victorian way of writing double ss
Her name was Carroll on her sister's marriage. If the burial is not her husband then it throws everything into doubt.
I think I will have to start again, maybe I should begin with John Carroll. Lydia

Hi,
It is a little vague, because I have never been able to find anything about her beyond her marriage, she was a witness to her sister's marriage in 1884 and nothing else. I cannot find her on any census after 1871, she married in 1883. It would seem the John Carroll in  Es ton cemetery may now be the single gas stoker. I have not bought any certificates as yet, but I think that may be necessary. She is the only one in that large family that is not complete.
Regards, Lydia

Yes, I was just reading about the homes, I have no idea if this is the right John Carroll, but it fits in with the children being placed in the home in 1902. Lydia

I do not have the registrars certificate but just the church record and I have not made a note of the father's name, perhaps it was not given. The home at Ayresome I think must have been run by Nazareth House nuns, the boys and girls would have been separated in those days, but I will try and make enquiries with the local authority but it has changed hands so many times it may be hard to trace. I have very little info on Emma, the children were placed in 1902 Thomas was 8, James was 7 and Margaret was 6.
John Carroll was buried in 1899 in Eaton cemetery and was a labourer. I can find no baptisms in RC Cathedral records. The children appear in 1901 census in the cottage home and a Maggie Carroll is sent to Hensley into service in 1913 but there are too many Thomas & James Carroll to be sure and John Carroll is a common name
