Thank you Sillgen for the information you found for me, I appreciate your help. I think that James who married Mary Moor was possibly the son of James and Ann born c1786. No, I didn't have the burials of James and Ann, thanks. If possible would you be able to give me the details of any other burials for this family?

Once again, thank you.

Good afternoon,

I was given a brooch by my husband's aunt, which she said had belonged to her great grandmother who was born in London c1836 and came to Australia in the early 1850s.

The brooch is approximately 2cm wide and 1.5cm high - see attached photos. The clasp is a typical hand made C catch and the hinge is a tube hinge.

I would be pleased if anyone has any information on this type of brooch.

Regards,

Thanks so much Carol, scandude and chinakay. The dates are what I originally thought but did have second thoughts on.

I appreciate you all taking the time to look at the photos and give your opinions.

I would appreciate it if the two attached photos could be dated. The first one - the man at the back was my great grandfather 1856-1940 and the other photo I thought the woman was my great grandmother 1858-1944 but am not sure now. Do you think the two white haired ladies are the same?

Thank you
