My fathers middle name came from his mother Jeanie Miller.

My grandfather Robert Stewart was 42 according to marriage certificate in 1904.......he knocked 2/ 3 years off his age......cheeky......he was born 1859 which would make him 44/45 in 1904.

Don't know where he was living in 1901 but in 1904 he was living at 13 Barclay Street, Glasgow.

Thanks for spending time on this.

According to my father's marraige certificate his parents names are ROBERT STEWART ( postman- deceased ) and Roberta Jane Macauley Gillespie...........not Jeanie Miller.

Confusing to say the least.

And no  - I have not looked on 1911 census......I would reckon it would say Roberta J.M.Gillespie

Yes - Amelia Howe ( ms Blake -  born Littlehampton ) later married George Dugan ( a Tailor ) in 1852 in Portsea.

In 1861 Census they are living at 90 St. Thomas Street Portsea with 4 or 5 kids .......I have that info.

Lanarkshire / STEWART & MILLER Marriage - 1903

According to my fathers birth certificate ( born 1908 in Eaglesham / Renfrewshire ) his parents
ROBERT STEWART ( postman ) & JEANIE MILLER were married April 27 1903 in Glasgow.

I am dubious about this statement as no one in our family new anything about a Jeanie Miller until fairly recently.
Did any marraige take place ?

Thanks for your help.
