have just found marriage for George and Janet and interested in finding out more on Janet McKay think she was born 1835 Glasgow  and have her father Robert McKay as a Chelsea pensioner would be great to learn more on this branch of my family tree e.g if there where brothers sisters of Janet and what campaines Robert was in these two people would be my grt grt granmother and grt grt grt granfather any help or information would be most appreciated David.

this what i am wanting to know my grt grt granpernts had six children have obtained birth certs for these which state that these or the parents but on birth certs for boys there mother uses diffrent maiden names don't know why she would use diffrent name as her husband is father of all six wondering if anyone could help with this as i am puzzled why she would do this thanks David.

have a Mary Yates in my family she is my grt grt grt granfather sister what i want to know is was she married as cant find any certs for this .have her on 1841 census with her father and son .Torry or new mill James Yates 65 1776 Ag Lauree ,Mary Yates 25 1816 and thomas Willie 3 1838 Rayburn was thomas her son.have 51 census one house Torry village torryburn Mary Yates 34 1817 head marriage unknown errand goer perthshire culross, James white 8 son pauper fife torryburn Anne wilkie 12 1839 daughter pauper scholar fife torryburn then my grt grt grt granfather and my grt grt granfather what am wanting to know is was Mary married or not and are these children hers as she seems to have children with diffrent name for Anne wilkie thinks this may be my grt grt granfathers sister hope you can shed sum light on this thanks David/

looking for information regarding James Yates being in the salvation army ,just received photo from family in Scotland of my grt grt granfather in salvation dress Ive put this on photo restoration hoping to get some sort of number on unifrom but had no luck with this guessing this photo is abet late 1880 to 1890s this photo you can view on this site under clean up and date any information welcome .think this was either stirling or Brampton cumbria when he has been in the Sal army thanks David.

have very little info on these my granparents as my dad hasn't got that much information on them as Lillian diedwhen my dad was 18months old and he was fostered out ,so this is info he knows ,mother born around 1897 killingworth or tynemouth father not sure when born and where .dad said that he lived in walker as a child any information on these would be gratefully appreciated.

have herd stories that my grt granfather had a shop or shops in stirling ,have Lucy Watson his wife had a antique shop so i have been told any information or old pics would be greatly received ,have been told this was around the late 1800s 1920s or 30s thanks davidpaul. George was a furniture dealer.

hi i have 1891 census for my ancestors and dont understand what this means.this census is for chapel lane Brampton i have James Yates head married 44 years old 1847 general lab Scotland. john Yates Q single male 17 years 1874 general lab hexham and two other children, wot does the Q stand for on john Yates as don't understand what this could mean thanks davidpaul.
