Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Yateley Parish Records - Lookup Ruth Hankins
« on: Monday 02 September 13 20:06 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Ruth Hankins was baptised at Yateley on the 7th August 1791.

William and Mary are listed as parents. I believe they are not from Yateley. Does the record state they are from another parish perhaps?

Thank you for your help.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / James Hankins Marriage approx 1757
« on: Monday 02 September 13 19:54 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to discover the marriage record of James Hankins to a Mary "unknown maiden name".

They had the following children whose births are recorded at All Saints Church, Crondall, Hampshire.

James b1757
Mary b1761
Thomas b1763
Ann b1765
Elizabeth b1768
Henry b1770

James looks like the first born child, so presumably they married around 1757.

The Crondall parish records are online under Surrey parish records at Ancestry. However, I am unable to trace the marriage record for the couple even after spending hours trawling the pages. It appears there are gaps in the photographed records or they are not in order? I am not sure which. If anyone would like to double check my search i would most appreciate it.

I would really like to know where James Hankins was from and whether he had a brother called William. I was hoping the marriage would give me a clue.

Thank you

Surrey / Marriage of Charles Hankins and Eliza Ann Scott 1877
« on: Wednesday 05 June 13 19:27 BST (UK)  »
Dear reader,

I am the most frustrated person on the planet right now!  :( Please help.

I am looking for the Parish Record of the following Marriage:

Charles Hankins (b1851 Ewshott) & Eliza Ann Scott (b1854 Farnham)
Married 1877 in Jul-Sep
(Vol 2a P192)
Registration District - Farnham, Surrey

Ancestry loaded the Surrey Parish Records at the weekend and since then I have been trawling them to try to locate the parish record of the marriage, but as yet I have not found it.

Charles was living with his parents Tongham and Eliza was living in Ash. I naturally checked the parish churches around there but no luck.

If anyone can find it then please let me know  :)

Thanks

Hi,
Is there anyone able to view the parish records of Vernham Dean? Andover library and Hampshire record office are a fair way for me to travel  :(

I would like to know if there is a parent listed on the death record of the following children:

Mary Ann Bath (born  about Dec 1856) Died 12 Jan 1857.
George Bath (born Jan 1852) Died 7 Jan 1852.

I believe these are the death records of two illigitimate children of Charlotte Bath b1830 Vernham Dean.

Any help appreciated.
Thank you

Is there anyone out there that recoginises the badges and can tell us what they represented?

Thank you

Wiltshire / Lookup Request: Fosbury
« on: Thursday 01 November 12 21:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

My GG Grandmother was born Jane Bath in 1854 at Vernhams Dean. Only her mother Charlotte is recorded on the birth certificate.  :(   She was baptised on Christmas day that year but was baptised as Mary Jane Bath. She went on to marry George Richardson on the 26th Nov 1874 in Fosbury and her name is recorded as Mary Jane Bath there too . Also according to the transcription I have got the Grooms father is called Charles Bignol. ???

I wondered if there was some sort of error and that this is really just a witness, not a father. I'm so confused.
If anyone can help by viewing the original entry and letting me know if the trancription is correct then I would very much appreciate it.
Also if anyone out there can shed some light on who Jane's father is then I am keen to hear about him.

Thank you

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Died in the Workhouse. Where buried?
« on: Thursday 18 October 12 14:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

My Ancestor Charles Hankins died in 1908 at Winchfield Union Workhouse. He died of old age. Within two weeks his wife Harriet also died in the same Workhouse.

Can anyone advise me how i can find out where they would have been buried? Would they have been buried at all?

Thanks
Tidgy
