Northamptonshire / Anyone visiting Northamptonshire Records Office?
« on: Thursday 28 August 14 12:50 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I was hoping someone may be going to the Northamptonshire records office and would possibly look me something up while they were there.
My ancestor George Crowden died in Uppingham in 1828 and he left a will. I actually know the reference needed for it which is (PWill, R2, Box 13, page 130). What I am looking for is to know if he mentions his son William in the will.
I would be extremely grateful for any help.
Thankyou
Rich

I'm very impressed with what's been found for me. It will be a great help. The removal order is interesting because I had not imagined there being a London link.

Thankyou ever so much for taking the time to look for me. Will try and look into the marriage license a bit deeper. Strange how there are no witness's to the Richard Frost marriage.
Thanks again

Sussex / Fosier/Foster from Rye

Hello

I was hoping that someone may be able to help me with this please.
My ancestor was Sarah Fosier or Foster. She married Thomas Gasson in 1773 and then Richard Frost in 1783. She died in 1839 aged 94 (all this happened in Rye in Sussex). I found what i think may be her baptism in 1745 in Rye but i'm after a bit of proof to confirm it is her. I noticed that there is another Sarah Fosier marrying in Rye in 1767 to Robert Smith (how do i confirm this is not the Sarah that was baptized in 1745 which i think is mine?). Does anyone have access to the marriages in Rye to see who the witness's were to both of Sarah's marriages please, i am hoping this may give me some clues as to who her family is.
Hope i haven't confused anyone. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks
Rich

« on: Sunday 10 August 14 10:30 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I'm hoping someone may be able to help me. One of my ancestors was George Crowden who lived in Uppingham in Rutland and died there in March 1828. I know that he left a will due to a newspaper article. I is also listed in the death duty index. Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of the will please?
Thanks
Rich

Kent / Re: John Newton & Sarah marriage help please

This could be one of those brickwalls that take a fair bit of work to knock down. It could be a needle in a haystack kind of search.

Kent / John Newton & Sarah marriage help please
« on: Saturday 02 August 14 17:24 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I am currently stuck on a marriage for one of my ancestors and was hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction.
On of my ancestors was Martha Newton who was born in Chart Sutton in Kent in 1765. Her parents are listed as John Newton and Sarah. I did find a couple of other baptisms for children to a couple named John and Sarah but one was in Milton next sittingbourne in 1769 and the other in Hucking in 1772 so i'm not sure if these are related.
I have a feeling that John may die before 1790 because there is a Sarah Newton who is a widow marrying Moses Hopper in Chart Sutton in 1790.
I am trying to trace the marriage of John Newton and Sarah but i am struggling finding a link to the right couple.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thankyou
Rich

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Re: Burials of George and Judith Hill
« on: Saturday 02 August 14 17:15 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Yes it was the George Hill who married Judith Burley at Tankersley.
I know that the couple where in Sheffield from the mid 1790's and most of the children lived in Sheffield. I just don't know where they are hiding. I'm wondering if they are burried in a non conformist graveyard because i'm running out of ideas now!

Thanks
Rich
