Sorry to read that you can't get a copy from HALS. I can see that it's on their records so why they can't find it is beyond me. Possibly it's hard to read  ???

BUT with a little searching I've found that SOME 1629 British Transcripts for Rickmansworth were included in   "England Marriages, 1538–1973 "

There are 6 marriages reported on Family Search for that year - unfortunately they don't include your Weedon/Beck marriage. Seems that July-October are missing on FS

HALS reports that there were 17 marriages in 1629. FS has only 6

The Film number for these Family Search records is 569753 (Batch # M07279-5)
You might be able to get a copy of the film at your local LDS rooms.

As an aside - interesting to see (on FS) that there's a christening for a John Weedon at Rickmansworth on 27 June 1629 (son of Thos & Mary) ... so some Rickmansworth records are available (somewhere)   ::)

Good luck

PS - it might save you £10+   ;)

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: Wedding maybe pre WW1
« on: Tuesday 07 June 22 01:57 BST (UK)  »
Oh how wonderful - restorations like those, and in less than 24 hours, are exceptional

Thanks Ian - they look fantastic now and colouring certainly wouldn't hurt

That's great John - thanks so much. I really appreciate the time and effort you've put into this

Aww Tomkin - 2 for the price of 1 - they look beautiful & up to your usual high standard. Many thanks

Hi Gadget - Nice to meet again. Thanks for the date estimate. This pic is all I have but the date range fits in with my thoughts - just have to rule in or out  a few side branch family members.

Again - thank you everyone. I understand the efforts put into restorations so truly appreciate your work.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Wedding maybe pre WW1
« on: Monday 06 June 22 13:23 BST (UK)  »
I'm not sure who this couple is but I'm thinking the wedding might be early 1900's - prob just before the WW1

Suggestions re a more definite date would be very helpful please.

Any restoration/amendments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Di

Samuel SNR died 26th January 1874 Guyong buried Cornish Settlement
In Samuels probate dated 251st July 1874, it only mentions 2 sons Christopher and William
There is no mention of Samuel as we was in the Rylstone area by then, and the other son James, or his wife Elizabeth

Do you have a copy of Samuel's will or simply the Probate notice?
 - The Executors may have been 2 of his sons but that doesn't mean the other sons were deceased or excluded from the will.
A copy of the will may be a benefit.

Reference made to the Weedon/Beck marriage is recorded on Hertfordshire Names Online
States they married 15 June 1629, Source being Bishop's Transcripts
You are able to order a copy via their website.

Seems that the BT's aren't on FindMyPast or FREEREG

Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Redbourn Parish records
« on: Saturday 14 May 22 12:18 BST (UK)  »
Have you tried FREEREG?

A quick search there for Bp for Rachel 1802-1810 gives 16 females (including surrounding area)

Only 1 specifically in Redbourn that of Rachel Jackson but she may have married in 1824 (George Munt)

You'll need to follow each and see if they married or died to eliminate them.

Australia / Re: Looking for parents/details of Christopher Ernest Truman NSW
« on: Monday 02 May 22 13:36 BST (UK)  »
When Christopher's mother died in 1880 her death was officially listed as Johanna TRUEMAN but shown in Sydney Morning Herald as TRUMAN (13 Jul 1880)
No mention was made of her husband.

Christopher E Lillies was born 12 Aug 1866. His sister Agnes & brother John were also registered as LILLIES.

Therefore sometime between 1866 and 1880 their surname changed occasionally - not always.
