Limerick / Re: Brian(Bryan)O'Mahoney(mahoney, Mahony)born1847 Oola, Limerick.
« on: Saturday 13 May 17 19:02 BST (UK)  »
Hi Maggsie,
many thanks for getting back to me,
I have no Brigit for Brian and Mary Mahoney, but i do have a Bridget born to who i thinks are  Kate/Brians parents:
Baptism(Rootsireland)
27 July 1848 • SOLOHEAD & OOLA,Co.Limerick.
Name: Bridget Mahony, Date of Baptism: 27-Jul-1848,Address: Gortaclareen, Denomination: Roman Catholic,Father: John Mahony,Mother: Margaret Carroll, Informant 1: Js Carroll. Informant 2: Mgt Moloney

From Rootsireland site I do have a son to a Brian and Mary Mahony, James:Baptism
5 March 1880 • Murroe, Boher and Abington, Limerick and Tipperary, Ireland
James Mahony, Date of Baptism: 05-Mar-1880 Address: Meentolla,Parish/District: MURROE & BOHER ,Co. Limerick,Denomination: Roman Catholic,Father: Bryan Mahony, Mother: Mary Mahony, Sponsor:Hugh O'Gorman,Sponsor 2:Mary O'Gorman (as you can see his parents are hopefully my Brian, differently spelt Bryan Mahony and wife as Mary Mahony , i have found this marriage, but people in family in NZ have Brian married to Ellen Twoomey. so hence my problem, i dont have a marriage to Ellen nor can i find any.

I have no Denis  or William either.

I do however have a James to Brian and Mary Mahony: Baptism
5 March 1880 • Murroe, Boher and Abington, Limerick and Tipperary, Ireland.
James Mahony, Date of Baptism: 05-Mar-1880 Address: Meentolla,Parish/District: MURROE & BOHER ,Co. Limerick,Denomination: Roman Catholic,Father: Bryan Mahony, Mother: Mary Mahony, Sponsor:Hugh O'Gorman,Sponsor 2:Mary O'Gorman.

Unfortunately like i said in previous post i have so may name spelling variants and all the names are common in ireland i dont know how to work out whos who and where they all belong,or if they belong to my tree, and with Limerick and Tipperary overlapping in records that only makes it harder to define.
You say work back from actual documents, i only  have the documents that are on the ancestry websites so i have no way of knowing if any are correct,as with all spellings and sometime it says Oola Tipperary sometimes its Limerick,
as i cant find Bryan/kate's parents marriage details, My tree starts from Catherine(Kate the person who originally married into my family, i have all her details correct)  i do however have a births for both Kates/Bryans  parents if they are also correct as per these records of baptisms.
many thanks once again
Debbie

Hi im looking into this person from a previous post about his sister (catherine/Kate),
from other trees from possible family members in NZ, they have him married to Ellen Twoomey(Twomey,Toomey) with 3 children Winnie, Micheal, and Jack,
but i can find no marriage to Ellen or Births of theses children,I have looked on Ancestry,Family search site,Roots Ireland site.
I have however found a birth for Brian on Roots Ireland site,(that has also given me a possible maiden name,(margaret Carroll, although i cant find this marriage either) for his mother if i have the correct parents,)also i have a marriage for Brian to Mary Mahony
 Marriage
6 Feb 1872 • MURROE & BOHER
Witness 1 Name: James Hammond, Witness 2 Kate Mahony, Roman Catholic. Brian Mahony Mary Mahony Address: Meentoola Denomination: Roman Catholic
Mary Mahony(1851–) also from Roots Ireland,
they apparently had 9/10 children.
I do have census for Ireland 1901 and 1911 with this wife and some of the children
If anyone could possibly confirm i have got this right i would really appreciate it,
I have however kept a note of the original possible wife and 3 children in case they are correct and these new people are wrong.
any help greatly appreciated
Debbie

May i thanks you for all your help and i have a complete new family line to follow which will be interesting.

Hi trish,
many thanks for the info you have given me,
i will hold on to it as im not able to confirm as yet that this is the correct family im following im waiting confirmation for a death cert before i progress down the childrens line.
This is due to the fact this family isent local to where i hail from, and ive no other family from down their. So im only doing fact finding at the moment.
I will hopefully know more when i get confirmation of the death cert if her husband is listed as George Barnes,as i know he was alive in the war census 1939 living in scunthorpe with my great grandmother(this info for 1939 census is all i have on George with a son William barnes b1890(my great grandad) and hes down as a widow, and i cant find another death for Mary ann Barnes,in the scunthorpe area.If this all ties together then i have a whole new area to go into and the info you have given me will be great start.i will also know where my William b1890 was born.
once again i thank you for the info youve found heres hoping we are on the right path.
Debbie  :D
Once again Many thanks

Hi Crisane.
Many thanks for this info, i will take a look, as for them living in  Doncaster its 30 mins by car from our home town Scunthorpe, and as for the Cambridge and Huntingdonshire connection for the rest thats a complete new area for my family if this is indeed them.
Once again many thanks

Hi folks,
I am struggling with William Barnes's birth i have 1890 from marriage certificate, unfortunatly im unable to find where born, has i cant find a census for 1901 and 1911 for him with his father George(from Marriage certificate)There are loads for Williams with George as father all over the uk,
I am fairly certain hes not local to scunthorpe where he married and lived till his death. I have checked all online births in scunthorpe, there is none, although i have found 2 births William Herbert Barnes 1890 Grantham and William Victor Barnes 1891 Lincoln, within Lincolnshire.

But i have nothing to say my William had a middle name, there are loads of birth nationally as William Barnes, and loads more on top of those as Williams with Middle names Nationally.

Can anyone suggest any further places to look also i dont know who is mother is as i have not found his father Georges birth, marriage, or any census info,  all i know is that george was a Farm labourer on Williams Marrage Cert, although i do have a possible death in 1941 in Scunthorpe where he was living in 1939  War census living with his daughter in law harriet.
many thanks
Debbie xx
