Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / How can I be a match to a person then not?
« on: Sunday 06 January 19 11:07 GMT (UK)  »
This has happened a few times.  A third cousin came back as a match, which I personally know to be right, but when I look at their profile Ancestry tells me we are not DNA linked. We have both been tested.
Same results with other not known 3rd cousins.
  Any thoughts?

I am trying to find the marriage of David Evans and Grace Davies 1815. I have found the records of the banns from the Llangeler Parish records but no actual marriage. I am hoping that they married in Penboyr (Grace's parish) but are these records online ?

Please can you tell me how to get the index no. I need for my 3 X grandparents marriage certificate.

I have found the marriage banns for David Evans and Grace Davies but they are for the parish church in Llangeler, Grace is from Penboyr. I would have thought they would have married in Penboyr, Carmarthenshire. The date is 1815.
I cannot find their marriage on freereg but it's on Ancestry and FindMyPast.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Links to both paternal and maternal lines
« on: Sunday 02 September 18 09:41 BST (UK)  »
I am a complete novice when it comes to DNA testing and I am having problems with a person who claims to be belonging to me with matches to my tree on Ancestry on both paternal and maternal lines.  How can this be? Would be very grateful if somebody has an explanation.
He is looking for his paternal grandfather, cannot be my father who is the link as his father and mine were born within 3 yrs of each other. Cannot be my grandparents either as there has never been a link between the families, i.e sisters marrying brothers.
 Any suggestions? Thanks
