Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / 1901 census
« on: Sunday 12 September 21 10:18 BST (UK)  »
Aritia Holland was my great aunt.  On her marriage certificate dated 17th Nov 1902, her residence is written as 26, Copeland/Cobeland/Street Mountain Ash (writing difficult to read).  Her father deceased is noted as Joel Holland. Aritia married Henry Rowe my great uncle.  As to any other data I have failed to locate her or her family.
Now I cannot find this street on either Google Maps or NLS,  nor can I find a 1901 census for her or the street.
    Please can you help
Thanks

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Third cousin once removed/4th cousin
« on: Sunday 25 July 21 09:42 BST (UK)  »
I have had a request from a DNA link to find a common ancestor between us.  She is a third cousin once removed or a 4th cousin, we share a 29cm across 3 segments.
My question is do I start with a 3xgreat grandparent or a 2xgreat aunt.  or have I read the table wrong?
  Thank you

Cardiganshire / The Teifi Valley Coroner novels by Alis Hawkins
« on: Thursday 01 October 20 09:02 BST (UK)  »
Firstly my apologies if I am using the incorrect forum but I just wanted to share a great find. My husband's  and my ancestors were born and lived in Cardiganshire it was with great delight to find these books in Cardigan town.
Set in Cardigan in the 1800's they are fictional with apparently correct historical facts and places.   The first book is mainly Newcastle Emlyn the second Cardigan and St Dogmael's.   The third is available tomorrow.
A great read for anybody with ancestors from Cardiganshire.

Glamorganshire / Gwenllian Williams nee James
« on: Sunday 12 July 20 09:18 BST (UK)  »
Gwenllian was my 2nd gg married to HenryWilliams.

I have her marriage to Henry in 1835 and her death both recorded at St Ilan Eglwysilan 1876 but having problems with birth/baptism.  On all census it has her birth as Dynas/Dinas Glamorgan, but I have failed to find any record.   The nearest record is a birth in Neath.

Looked up maps on National library of Scotland, no Dinas in Elwysilan but a Mynydd Dinas in Neath but no village.

Cannot find the GRO info for marriage to send for a copy but have a photo of the church record.

   Please can you help ,

Thanks

I have no problem with loading the Thrulines page but when I click on DNA matches of any ancestors the page will not load.
