Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: Voter's List
« on: Wednesday 22 February 17 16:41 GMT (UK)  »
Her death certificate gave "North End, Goxhill" as her address but no house number or name. She died at Brigg. Would the 1946 list give the actual house number or is North End the closest address I can get?

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Voter's List
« on: Wednesday 22 February 17 16:24 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to find a Great Aunt's, Eva Beatrice MILSON, address in 1945 in Goxhill and wondered if she would be on this Voter's list. Any help appreciated. On the 1911 census they were living in Hull so that census doesn't help me and I'm not sure how else to find her. She died in 1947.

Hi List,
I'm helping a friend who would like to order her Mother's Birth Certificate from 1915, mother's name and birth place in subject line.

Is the best way to get this is to order the certificate through the Vital Office in Bismarck. Could anyone tell me the procedure for doing this.

Thanks,

Sorry my friend's mother was the granddaughter of Donald & Lily and not their daughter. Her father was their son Donald who came over to Canada in 1904 and married Lena Hainer.

I'm sorry, I never got an notification to say anyone had answered my Request so  I haven't been checking back to this site.

I have found out that Donald married Lily Bell Munro so the marriage you found was the correct one.
My friend's mother was the daughter of Donald & Lily and we have all the info from that line as the children were all born here in Saskatchewan.

I found the Immigration record too and believed the name above of Donald's was John. As far as I know there were no siblings named John but he did have brothers by the name of William, Neil, Roderick & Robert. My friend thought Donald had come to Canada with his brother William born in 1887, any chance his name was John William?

Thanks for all the help you have given us. I will check out SP & see what I can find.

I will see what my friend wants to do.
If we think the marriage took place in Glasgow could he look through the Parish records himself or does the Parish Church keep these records on hand? Scotland doesn't have the FreeBMD records online then that England has?

Also with his grandfather being born I Dailly which I'm hoping is a smaller parish would those records still be kept there?

Ayrshire / CAMERON family born in Dailly
« on: Sunday 25 January 15 20:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
My friend is going to Scotland in March and would like to look up some places where his ancestors lived, are buried or what would be really great would be to find some living CAMERON relatives.

His gr-grandfather DONALD CAMERON was born in 1845 in South Leith and married LILY BELL who was born in 1849 in Glasgow.

Together with their family I found them on the 1881 census living at Wallaceton Cottage in Dailly. Donald(Mis-spelled Ronald) was  a Teacher
Their Children:
Sarah Bell age 2 born in Glasgow
Roderick age 2  born in Dailly
Catherine McBean 6 months Born in Dailly

1891 census
The family lived at 61 Kelvnside Ave. in Barony, Lanarkshire
Sarah 13
Roddie 12
Kate 10
Donald 8
Neil 6
William 4
Robert 3

From a family write-up, son Donald, Neil & William & Daughter Catherine came to Canada to live. Donald came in Aug 1904 but I never found his Immigration record. On the 1881 census with Catherine's middle name McBean I believe I found Donald's(Born 1845) parents, Rodrick & Cathren McBain living with sons William age 8 & Donald age 6 both born in Leith and living in Calder Brachlie in Nairnshire.

This is all the info I could find so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. I couldn't find the family on the 1901 census or later or Donald & Lily before the 1881 census. I never found any immigration records or burial records so if someone could help me or point me in the right direction to look.

Thanks,

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: Gilby Family

Carol, Thanks for finding this. Can you give me the name of the ship, where I could find this passenger list or a copy, please. I did find a Fred B. Gilby coming to Halifax in 1909 at the age of 21 so either one could be him or maybe it's the same guy.
