Hi,
I am looking for birth or baptism records for my ancestors in the Ashbourne area.

John Webster born about 1796 Ashbourne

and

Emma Finney born about 1806 Farley

I would appreciate any help in finding them.
I have checked the IGI but can find records for neither of them.
I have them on the 1851 & 1861 census in Margins Yard, Ashbourne.
Thanks
Tan.

Occupation Interests / Electricians in the early 1900s
« on: Wednesday 05 October 05 14:07 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have any idea where Electricians learnt their trade in the early 1900s?

My great-grandmother was born circa 1908, on her marriage certificate in 1930 it says her father, Thomas Tuckwell was an Electrician.

This is likely to have been in the London area.
I was hoping there would be some sort of records around for this kind of profession, I daren't assume they were all registered tradesmen as they are today but I was hoping there would be apprenticeship records or similar as this wouldn't have been the most common occupation at the time.

Berkshire / IGI Batch numbers Drayton, Berkshire
« on: Tuesday 16 August 05 11:33 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone tell me the IGI batch numbers for Drayton, Berkshire??

I know that M160781 is one of them but Drayton isn't listed on Hugh Wallis' website and his e-mail isn't working for me to contact him (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers.htm)

I'm trying to find out the parents of Sarah Simonds
(or any alternative spelling, Symmonds etc.)
She married John Rixon in Great Faringdon in 1725.

There were a few Simonds in the area on the IGI but not many,  I can't find a record of Sarah's birth.

The best match I can see is a Sarah christened in Reading in 1699 but I don't want to jump to conclusions!

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Tan

Merionethshire Lookup Requests / Llanuwchllyn Parish registers or 1841/1851 census
« on: Wednesday 20 July 05 15:09 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for the parents of Moses Hughes born 1843 Dyffryn/LLanuwchllyn, I know from hs marriage certificate that his fathers name was also Moses Hughes.

I guess this is not a common name from what Ive seen on 1861 census onwards and would appreciate any info I can get on these two ancestors of mine on any older records such as  the Llanuwchllyn Parish registers or 1841/1851 census.

Thanks.
