Commonwealth War Graves Commission

I do not think this has been listed?

The drop down arrow adjacent to the Casualty field allows a search by cemetery or memorial   ,  including the  United Kingdom ,  allowing access to reports, plans and photographs where applicable.

Just a thought , this could be police uniform. Inspector rank or above?
Can you say which county he may have lived/worked in. A search on the county police named might identify the cap badge.

Hello Kevan,

Thank you for the replies.

My interest in Frank Littlechild is purely medal research. This site was mentioned on another site and I joined to see what I could offer but it is already working both ways. :)
No, I have not been in contact Stehpen Littlechild.
I have visited your site .

I am grateful for the 1891 census information, which I did not have.
In fact this is the first census information I have as although I research medals I cannot class myself as a genealogist.

I am pleased that the post might be of use to you as I did not know whether my information was too modern.

If I come across anything else I will get back to you.

Thanks

Stuart

Hello Kevan,

A newsclip dated 11 May 1917 (Derby Mercury paper) includes the following:-

Private A.W. Littlechild, late Derbyshire Yeomanry and now with the Durham Light infantry, has been wounded in France. Private Littlechild is the third son of Sergeant Major Littlechild, late of the  Derbyshire Yeomanry , who has four sons serving.

My interest is with a Frank Littlechild, Derbyshire Yeomanry, who served in The Boer War of 1899+ ,  the Great War, at some stage transferred to the Labour Corps 1918/19 and is recorded on his Medal Index Card as "died" but there is no trace of his death on the CWGC site or the CD SDGW. A thread is running currently on The Great War Forum .

For your information and anything you have on a Frank Littlechild's death circa 1920s Derby area ?

thanks

Stuart
