Anthony & Saz,

Thanks, could be useful

Margaret Ferguson's grandfather was John Ferris, of the Inn House Glenavy, a Spirit Merchant.

John's daughter Charlotte married Leonard J Ferguson, 31 Nov 1831.  This was Margaret's parents.  I know nothing else about Leonard.

A "Ferris" family "Bible" had all the family of Margaret and Henry (Cousins) listed with the Ferris family connections.

Hi Anne,

All I have is that my Great Aunt Margaret Gibson Lindsay, married Robert Johnston on 7 Jan 1899, and the 1901 census shows her as a widow.  No "current" desendants knew about this marriage.  The marriage certificate gives Roberts address as HMS I***. It is badly smudged but looked like Ieat.

Trying to find a bit more about Robert.

Sorry not much help

Interested in trying to find the name of a Royal Naval ship - HMS Ieat?  My Great Great Uncle Robert Johnston was married in 1899.  At the time he was a Sailor in the Royal Navy.
