London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1861 look-up Please - KIRK

I need a bit of help to try to find Arthur Kirk in the 1861 census.

He was born April 6th 1847 at Marylebone. In 1851 he is an orphan and living in the Infant Orphans Asylum at Wanstead. He doesn't appear there after 1854 and I am informed that it was common for the 'infant orphans' to transfer to the London Orphans Asylum, Hackney Road, Clapton at the age of seven.

As Arthur will be about 14 in 1861 I'm not sure whether he would be at the Orphans Asylum or not.

Is it possible to search the 1861 by address to see if he appears there?

In 1871 he is boarding in Staines, and I have him on all other census returns.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I'm looking for William Fidling, born c.1822 in Benniworth on the 1851 and 1861 census please?

On the 1881 census he has a wife, Elizabeth, born c.1819 in Sewstern, Leics and a son, William, born c.1854 in Lissington.

I'm hoping to find a few more children by finding him on an earlier census.

Hi,

I'm just filling in a few blanks on one of my lines.

I have Eliza Fidling on the 1851 census, born c.1821 in Mablethorpe and with an illegitimate son, William Fidling, born c.1850 in Tealby.

There is a very likely looking marriage on freebmd for Eliza to John Dowman (Dec qtr 1852).

Could I ask for a look-up on the 1861 (and possibly 1871?) census for Eliza and John Dowman, and William Fidling please?

Could someone let me have the details for the 1871 census entry for Moses Smith born c.1812 in Harby please?

I'm hoping that this is my husband's ancestor - if it is he was widowed in 1862 and his occupation in 1861 was chair bottomer (traveller family).

Hi,

I'm looking for Hannah Smith, born c.1811 in Bubwith ERY, but I believe that she is living in the Luddington area in 1871.

Her husband is George Smith, born c.1813 at 'Goudle' (Gowdall YKS or Goole?). George had died prior to 1881 so I'm not sure if he will appear in the 1871 census or not.
