No, Ashtone,

But, of course, there were some "invited" to emigrate and others made it a voluntary decision 8) 8)

Good Morning Everyone,

Thank you for all your inputs for which I am extremely grateful.   Certainly we are talking about the correct person, criminal record, Canada etc.

Galway seems to be the general consensus and I am more than happy to agree.   Pity it can't be narrowed to a particular parish.

Thank you all once again.

Ireland / Patrick RUBERY: born 12/05/1845

Hello,

I understand Patrick RUBERY was born in Ireland on 12/05/1845, the son of Peter RUBERY and his wife Nancy (nee FAHEY).   Sadly, I have no idea of the town/county in which he was born and when he was baptised.   I wonder if someone could help please.   The information quoted has been researched from other documents.

Thank you

Thank you, ShaunJ,

"KIEF" was the name transcribed, but it appears later that was only one of many variations.

Hello,

James KEEFE/O'KEEFE was baptised on 18/02/1827 in St. Gregory's RC Church, Cheltenham, his parents being Daniel and Mary.

Could someone kindly confirm his exact name in the baptism records, if at all possible.

Thank you for your help.

Hello Ladyhawk,

The prison record showing his father at 118 Ridgway Street is, I think, fairly conclusive evidence. Thank you. 8) 8)

I am really grateful.

Good Afternoon,

I have discovered "a" Joseph LEVER died of Morbus Cardis on 12/03/1867 at 118 Ridgway Street, Manchester (is this Ancoats??), death advised by a lady called KENYON at 22 Ridgway Street.   Do you believe, on the balance of probability,  this advances the connection???

Good Morning,

I have uncovered a death entry for a Joseph LEVER aged 21 in the 1st quarter of 1867 in Manchester.
Possibly this could be the correct person, right age, for instance.

Is there any way of absolute identification, other than a Death Certificate?
