No, the earliest is 1938 electoral roll. I’m not sure it’s her sister, many unmarried french ladies lived in the area and another lady was with her of a different surname. Yes I’m thinking she gave herself the name Jeanne, but then if she was born in France it’s no surprise I can’t find her. I’m wondering if Jeanne was her name but the middle name Juliette was invented as it hardly appears at all.

Thank you Rosie , wasn’t going to mention the career as not relevant to this post and don’t want to upset anyone related.

Hi laurensimmo, I have the articles saved. Sad life she had.

Apologies for late reply everyone, I’ve had baby twins late in life and not a minute for a cuppa , family history now a welcome luxury. Jen, I hadn’t come across this! So this answers my query that she may have been french…. Thank you.  Crumblie, I’d made a note of the house mates name but not looked further into her yet due to not much child free time. This will change within 18 months, thank you :). Mckha, yes it says western on the 1939 census but not legible so someone wrote the name again. Post war electoral rolls give her as Jeanne o western, one gives her as Jean. Yazzie and Mabel, I did see that Georgine died 1977 in France but didn’t think any more of this, thankyou .

Haven’t visited this thread in ages but it’s reminded me of the murder that took place, I need to get my tree up to see the ladies name but pretty sure if was a Charles Bagley , her husband , who killed her, may be mistaken on his name as it’s a huge tree. Daughter was Oceana.

I’m wondering if she was French, which explains the birth. Death certificate sadly not giving anything away. I’ve looked at possible Jeans and matched their possible birth surname with anyone marrying a Western, there’s nothing. But thank you !!

This isn’t a look up request, I have access to ancestry , but I’m researching the life of a lady named Jeanne Odetta Juliette Western. On one early electoral roll she is Jean, so this may be her birth name. On the 1939 census she is Mrs, and also Mrs on her probate record. So I’m assuming Western is her married name but can’t see a marriage entry….I believe she may have given herself the middle name Juliette, as it appears later on in limited records, unsure if she also gave herself the name Odetta! Can’t see a birth, although her death entry gives birth year as 1911 (would be after the census)  she had a very interesting life and donated a lot of money to cancer research, but it was kept quiet for reasons I ll keep to myself. I can’t get anything on her other than electoral rolls, 1939 census and her death in 1975. Advice appreciated:).  Edit, she was always London based. I should add that I’m not a professional researcher, purely my own interest although one day I wish to research and write something a bit different, hopefully will get published.

Hi was Levi the son of Zach and justina or Abel and Lucy?  I’m researching boswells as my dna throws up masses of matches, back to Tyso and his father shadrack. Wish I could have told Gordon Boswell that we were related, sadly he passed a week after I met him.
