Cavan / Kate Josephine Brady
« on: Tuesday 13 July 21 15:50 BST (UK)  »
Kate was born on 14th May 1894 to Philip Brady and Katherine Reilly in Drummalleght Cavan.

In 1901 Census is recorded as a visitor age 7 to Mary Clarke and her daughter Annie Francis at Beaghglebe Killinkere Cavan.

I am trying to find out where is or what happened to Kate's family and was Mary Clarke a relation.
I dont seem able to find census records for Drummalleght. Do you know if this is missing /not recorded.
Thank you

Thank you for the marriage information for Joseph.

Do you think his mother Jane's death is the one recorded at Virginia Oldcastle in 1906 on 21st January?.

Also single mothers who gave birth to their baby in the workhouse would they usually keep the child?

Sorry about  the misreading.  No wonder it didn't make sense. Not a good idea doing research late at night.  Have found Joseph Kellett in Bailieborough Town in 1901  with his mother Jane then looks to have moved to Virginia by 1911 census.

I have an interest in a J Kellett who is recorded as the informant for James Ross death Cliffin 11th August 1920.
J Kellett is a watchmaker and James Ross brother in law. He carried the body to be buried.
Haven't come across that before so wondered if the relationship was special. Cannot find a marriage as yet for James Ross and his wife Elizabeth/Lizzie.
Possible birth might be Elizabeth Kellett to Jane Kellett 1870 Bailieborough Workhouse.

Matilda Smith /Smyth born 16th April 1892 Tullynaskeagh nr Bailieborough Cavan Ireland.  Parents John and Margaret Ray.
In Ireland was  also known as Jemima or Mina.
Emigrated to Australia after 1911 census where she can found as an assistant age 20 in Bailieborough Town.
What I do know  is that she married a William John Tyler in Perth 1923.

They only had a son William John Tyler born 1924 died 1993. He married a lady called Helen.

Matilda died 21st April 1977.

Is it possible to find a date for when she arrived in Australia?
Also can more details be found regarding her marriage and her son's marriage?
Is it possible to find details of her husband's death?

Thank you. Any help would be much appreciated.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Benjamin Mary and Susan Boyle.
« on: Friday 14 May 21 08:10 BST (UK)  »
Benjamin Boyle 21 married Mary Ann Wilson 20  on the 11th November 1874 at Bailieborough parish church Cavan. They were both from Galboly. Fathers William and Hugh.

Their daughter Susan was born 21st May 1875.

I can find a record of them emigrating to N Z. Left 25 May 1875 arrived 24 Aug 1875  Auckland on ship Dover Castle .

Can any information be found after them arriving in Auckland. With Susan being a new born baby I wondered how they got on.

I did find details of a marriage for a Susan Boyle I think to Wilfred Owens but I have misplaced my notes and am struggling to locate it on the
family search website. I was not sure if it was her.

Thank you
