Hi Kath
Hope all's well in your part of the world.
Going back a few posts to one of mine dated Oct 24.  I have Mary Ann Fewell  marrying James Rumsay 1800 Finchingfield.  I know your next question is where did I get the info.  Must break this bad habit of mine in not writing down who gave it to me, sorry.
Cheers

Hi merc2081 and Kate

Firstly I can't apologise enough to you both for not replying to your postings before this.  For some reason I was never alerted to them and have only just now come across them.  Thank you both so much for the info, I really do appreciate it.

I've since found out that George Leate was killed in the Battle of Alma in 1854.  Doesn't solve the problem of where he was in 1851 tho.  George's wife was Emily Leat.  I know her father was John Leat [a drum major in the Royal Marines].  Whether they're related in some way I haven't been able to work out - yet!  I live in hope  ;D

Hey Findem
Thanks so much for this.  Think I need to spend a bit of time just going thru it slowly to get it straight in my head.  Mind you that may never happen  ;D
Gotta go, have a good weekend , catch up again soon.
cheers

Hi Findem
Hope all's well.  Nice to see you back on here again.

Just read your last post re which Margaret married Henry.  Kath I'm with you - confused  ???  and it it doesn't take much with me either  :)   Hope all's well with you too Kath.

So - have we worked out yet which Margaret is indeed his wife?  Another thing while I'm on here.  Can you please tell me if I have this correct - I have Margaret and Henry's children as Johnathon b 1734, Edward b1735, Daniel b1737, Margaret b1738, Fanny b1746 and Margaret b1749.

Cheers

Hi Morwyn

Hi Cando
Thank you so much, that would be brilliant [I'd go myself only I'm in Brisbane].  Yes Emily was a child of Matthew and Jane.  There was also an Elizabeth [my g gmother] b 1888 d 1961, Frederick S b1895 d1896 and Andrew b1900 d1973.
Cheers

Hi Trish
Believe me I did use much stronger sentiments when I read what you wrote about the census records - thought I better not put it on paper tho  :)

Have checked Victoria where some of the family moved to but hadn't actually thought to look for her heading back overseas.  Will give that a go.  She has to be somehwhere...

Thanks again
Julie
