Antrim Completed Look up Requests / Re: 1841 census look-up pls - FITZGERALD
« on: Tuesday 03 March 09 09:09 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Andy

How great to hear from you.  John and Elizabeth/Betty were my husband Georges 3x great grandparents also.  Thanks for those other 2 children by the way, I didn't have them.

George comes down from their daughter Jane b Oct 1827 died Leicester UK 1894.  Jane married 03.03.1850 to James Brutnall.

I don't have any parents for John but I have Elizabeth/Betty's parents as Robert Wilson and Margaret Ferguson.

The only other info I have on any of the children is a marriage for Peter 04.03.1855 to Charlotte Ross b 23.07.1833.

Cheers
Julie

Wigtownshire / 1841 census look-up pls McWILLIAM
« on: Tuesday 07 October 08 08:16 BST (UK)  »
Hi to all reading this.
Would someone be kind enough please to do a census look-up for me in Portpatrick [I think] for John, William and Charles McWilliam.  Ages would be 20-30.  All were born in Portpatrick and are not listed with their parents Andrew and Agnes in Blair St Portpatrick in their census.
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers

Hi hume24

Thank you so much for this info, I really do appreciate it.

I don't actually have any son called Andrew in my info though, only John, William, Charles, Forbes and Elizabeth [not to say there wasn't one, maybe
I just don't have him].

In the 1841 census Forbes and Elizabeth are listed with their parents.  In 1851 only William and Elizabeth are listed with them.  No Andrew anywhere.

Cheers

Hi Jimboline
Thanks for your message.

I don't have a lot on my Craig's at the moment but will give you what I do have.  Whether we have a connection I don't know I'm sorry.

Agnes Craig [my 4xg gmother] b 1786 died 1869 Portpatrick, Wigtownshire, Scotland married Andrew McWilliam b 1787 Portpatrick died before 1869.  Andrew and Agnes had 5 children - John, william, Charles, Forbes and Elizabeth F.  Agnes's parents were William Craig, a farmer and Mary S McDowall.  I know they both died before 1869.

Cheers
Julie

Adding to my previous post:

I now know Andrew died before 1869 as Agnes is listed as a widow on her death cert.
Andrew is listed in the 1851 census but he's not listed with Agnes in 1861 [she's listed with her grandson William age 17].  She's not however listed as a widow  ???  Where Andrew is I have no idea [perhaps he has died].
Cheers
