Hi again,
The Stage Archives are fee paying but you can see snippets ( very small).
The search facility is a small box at the foot of the page (on my screen anyway)
It looks as though Agnes went by the name of Gagan.
Heywood
Thanks again Haywood.  I have had a quick look at the website, but will keep it until I have a couple of free days to pay for it.  You really are a font of information.

Hi again,

1911 census is free to search at the moment- there is a link on this site.
You can search by various means. If you use place of birth and occupation, Edwin turns up.
I think it is him because the wife's name also fits with his marriage.

Heywood
Thanks, so frustrating trying to find out about them from Aus.  I can't find them.  His wife was Agnes Ursula, nee Geoghan.

Yes I saw the marriage.unfortunately we are not allowed to post info from 1911 other than what is shown in free index.
However here is 1911 free search http://www.1911census.co.uk/
By going to advanced search and entering Edwin; Redruth for p o b and Actor as occupation, you get Edwin Beverley living in Stockport.
You can check for Agnes by using the search for Beverley in Stockport with Edwin in other members in household.
It seems long winded but it does seem to be them.

Thanks Heywood I found that and I think you are right.  They had been married for about a year and their daughter was staying with her grandparents.  They just did that to annoy me didn't they because all other references are in the Vincent surname.  Now to see if I can find out their roles.

Not sure if this of any help

Hull Daily Mail dated 16 May 1934.
Deaths
VINCENT Elizabeth, 19 Peel (I think) Street, widow of late Edwin Vincent of Redruth, Cornwall, 14th May. Interment at Derby.
Thanks, his parents were Edwin and Elizabeth so I presume that is his mother.  His father died in 1919.

Hi and welcome...There is a 1901 census entry in Leicester for:

Elizabeth Vincent 39 m. ...Boarding House Keeper
Edwin W B Vincent 19 a Lithographic Artist born in Redruth CORNWALL...but it says Cork, Ireland?
Lilian E Vincent 16
Horace T M Vincent 12
Frederick W Ryder 26
William E Preatored 21
Joseph Turkington 30
Henry Hughs 33

Carol
Thanks Carol, yes that is his family.  I can only presume Cork, Ireland is a transcription error.  Shortly after they moved to Sculcoates where I found his family in 1911.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Edwin William Barrett Vincent (1881-1940)
« on: Thursday 22 August 13 05:56 BST (UK)  »
My cousin Edwin William Barrett Vincent was born in Redruth, Cornwall in 1881 and died in Halifax, Yorkshire, WestRiding in 1940.  In the early 1900's  his family moved to Sculcoates, Yorkshire East Riding.  On his daughters birth certificate, his death certificate and his mothers will it has his occupation as an actor.  I have not been able to find any reference to him, so wonder if he performed under another name.  Can anyone suggest where I can look for information on his career?  Thanking you in advance for your help.

Australia / Re: Williams/Newton/Stephenson/Harding - help please!

Hazel, I found you post and I know that I am late answering, but those names mean a lot to me.  William Thomas Newton was one of the executors of my grandmothers will in 1933.  I also have a photo with 'from your loving cousin Bert Newton' written on the back and a postcard sent to my grandmother by Netta as well as an address book with her name and address in.  I believe my great great grandmother Margaret Williams (nee Ellis, husband Owen) is the sister of Grace Ellis.  I hope this fits in with your research.
