Midlothian / Looking for a possible marriage in Edinburgh around 1830.
« on: Tuesday 13 September 16 13:23 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I have this brickwall which I just can't break down.

I am looking for a marriage presumably in Edinburgh between John McQueen born around 1815 and Margaret Rankin born around 1815 both born in Edinburgh.

According to the 1841 census in Glasgow they had a daughter Margaret born 1833 presumably also in Edinburgh. In 1835 they had a son John born in Liverpool. John McQueen was a bricklayer. They raised a large family in Glasgow.

According to the death records from Glasgow for John and Margaret, John's parents were John McQueen, a seaman and Catherine Ross. Margaret's parents were William Rankin, a baker and Catherine Shaw. Allthough these names could be incorrect.

I have gone through ScotlandsPeople, FindmyPast, Ancestry, FamilySearch looking in Scotland and England. There is no trace of their marriage.
Is there anywhere else to look or has the record gone missing.

Ian
