Aberdeenshire / John Morgan's ancestors
« on: Sunday 25 May 14 11:09 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find my ancestors who I believe came from Old Machar, Aberdeen.  I have had no luck so far and am considering putting a letter in one of the local newspapers in that area.  Would anyone know of the best one to contact regarding this please?  Many thanks!

Can anyone tell me please if this was a hospital at sometime? It appears that one of my ancestors passed away here in the late 1950's but she was a nurse so I am not sure regarding this-perhaps she lived in?  Many thanks.

I am looking into my partner's family tree and we have this old photo from a member of the family and written on the back is 'Emmerson House, Butterknowle'.  Does anyone recognise this please and does it still exist?  My partner's grandmother lived there back in the mid 1940's.  Many thanks.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / York - Cadbury's factory??
« on: Thursday 20 March 14 11:36 GMT (UK)  »
Not sure if I am posting this request in the right place but does anyone know if there used to be a Cadbury factory in the York area please?  One of my partner's ancestors (his name was John Morgan) apparently used to work there.  Thank you.

Family History Beginners Board / A.T.S. in Bournemouth
« on: Tuesday 18 March 14 19:18 GMT (UK)  »
My mum was in the A.T.S. during WW2 and was at the Suncliff hotel for most of the war as she was in the pay corps.  Does anyone else have any family members who served in Bournemouth too?  I've been told that the Cumberland hotel next door was the offices and the living accommodation was at the Suncliff.

Family History Beginners Board / Jimmy McKenzie
« on: Tuesday 11 February 14 16:01 GMT (UK)  »
This is another photo that we have amongst the family collection.  Details written on the back are 'Jimmy McKenzie, June 1963, cousin of Margaret Martha Duncan Morgan.  Margaret was born in Henley in 1918 and passed away in Cornwall in 2003.  We assume the link to be on Margaret's father's side,John Morgan born 1892 in Old Machar, Aberdeen and that one of the girls married Jimmy.  Many thanks.

Family History Beginners Board / Morgan family of Old Machar, Aberdeen
« on: Monday 10 February 14 21:39 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to trace a family by the name of Morgan from Old Machar, Aberdeen.  I have been researching family trees for many years and am now having difficulty with a John Morgan who married Elizabeth Rose Mary Reynolds in St. Barnabas, Lancashire in 1916.  John's father's name was Alexander.  Does anyone know the best way to access the Scottish records please?
