Greenslade family - Cloatley Farm, Hankerton, Wiltshire
Sadly, Mildred Greenslade (aged 85) perished in the terrible fire which engulfed their farmhouse in 2002. Her two brothers were Peter and Michael/?Richard-does anyone know the outcome of the brothers please? Their father's name was Oliver and his wife was Frances Alice (nee Reynolds). They lived in the Minety and Hankerton areas of Wiltshire.

Somerset / Coroners reports
« on: Monday 13 February 17 16:20 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone know please if it is possible to obtain details of a coroner's report?  I have obtained a death certificate for my grandfather who lived in Paulton, north Somerset and passed away in 1948 due to an accident in the mine at Old Mills. I believe he had a payment awarded to his widow because of this. Thank you. :)

Somerset / Howe family, Wembdon, Bridgwater.
« on: Friday 13 January 17 15:56 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching my grandfather's tree and have come across a William George Howe (born 1902) and a Henry Howe (born 1877).  Henry passed away in Drummuir nursing home at Northfield, Bridgwater and his address was Oakfield Dairy of Wembdon.  I believe Henry married my grandfather's cousin, Matilda Callow.  Matilda's brother, Eli, left probate to a William George Howe a company director of Wembdon Hill.  Does anyone know anything of the family or the company please?  Thank you very much

My partner's grandparents were divorced in the 1950's.  Do the divorce records still exist for this time does anyone know please as I have been lead to believe that they do not?  His grandmother lived in Cornwall and grandfather was living in York at the time with another woman as far as I can tell.  Many thanks.

Somerset / Isolation Hospital
« on: Friday 08 July 16 15:47 BST (UK)  »
I have noticed a few times while looking into my family history that there used to be an isolation hospital in Westfield, near Radstock.  It seems to have been next to where the petrol station is now approximately opposite the butcher's shop.  Would it have been the very large old house which stands there now and has been empty for ever it seems?  Thanks.  :)

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Proof of age at marriage?
« on: Wednesday 20 April 16 13:35 BST (UK)  »
I have at last tracked down my very elusive ancestor but there is a query with his age on the certificates I have.  The person in question was born in 1891 and married his second wife in 1957 and the age stated on the certificate is 58 which is not correct.   Two years later, in 1959, he died, and the age stated on the death certificate is 68 which is correct.  Would this have been a genuine mistake as surely at this time he would have had to show proof of age etc. for the marriage (he had been divorced) such as a birth certificate?
Thanks :)
