Hubby found a spouse today in the 1891 Liscard Cheshire census with the occupation listed as "Inspector of Nuisance".
How cool is that!!!

Occupation Interests / Brass Bands
« on: Sunday 04 March 07 11:04 GMT (UK)  »
Found this site last night showing pictures of Brass Bands. There is also a genealogy part to the site for people looking for Ancestors who played in Brass Bands. I think it is worth a look. :) Not just British bands on there.

Armed Forces Resources / Canadian Virtual War Memorial
« on: Friday 19 January 07 21:43 GMT (UK)  »
Recently I found an entry on the Virtual Memorial for my Great Uncle who had served with the Canadian Infantry (Alberta Regiment) 49th Battalion. He died on November 12th 1918 from Influenza and was buried in Auberchicourt British Cemetery,France.
There was a photograph of him on the website, so i contacted the Veterans Affairs office, in Canada to find out who had submitted the photograph.
They very kindly contacted the person, who in turn contacted me.
Turns out the submitter is my second cousin.
The website for the Virtual Memorial is www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/
Just thought i would share this success story of mine with you all.

I thought this link may be of interest to other rootschatters found on this mornings news. It is an article about the Border Reivers clans.
Thought this was probably the best section to put it in as covers various surnames and a widespread area.
