Bingo!
jonw65, you've got them.  I'd spotted the possible marriage with Elizabeth Hoar but no way (until now) of matching it to her.

Many thanks

Janice

I haven't found the marriage yet to confirm (or otherwise) whether they were previously married

I haven't found a reliable 1851 census for any of them.
I think I have an 1871 Census for just Elizabeth (55) with Alexander junior (27) and Catherine (16)
at Langford Rd, St Pancras
1861 was Hastings St, St Pancras

Thanks Ruskie - corrected my typo re his age to 19

My guess had been that it was an error and that he could be a lodger or visitor, but wondered if I might be missing something else

I can't understand where Charles Hall, referred to as a son aged 19, fits into the household of Alexander (54) and Elizabeth (44) Cameron and their 5 children (20, 7, 14, 10 & 6) in the St Pancras 1861 Census.
Any ideas?

That does look promising Daisypetal, and could tie in with Daniel being a witness (I didn't find anything myself when I searched for St Albans Place)
I've checked back on what I have but couldn't find any corroborating evidence that mother (1810) was Ellen, but sometimes I've been passed info like this that I've not been able to find the evidence for myself, so it could be that - or maybe I'm just losing the plot

Yes I followed up on the death of Ellen 1848 and that would be corroborated by the workhouse records 1849, one of which records the children as motherless.  I'm not getting further though

2nd & separate question/request for more help

I'm still struggling to find more information for Ellen Shevatt's parents - William Shevatt & Ellen and grandparents.
I have found a promising looking record of Banns (12, 19 & 26 January 1840) and Marriage 27 January 1840 (No 423 page 212) in the Parish Church in St Mary, Islington
for William Shevatt and Ellen Connor both given as 'of age'
William's father is John Shevatt and Ellen's Father is Dennis Connor - both labourers
a witness is Daniel Connor

But I can't find anything else to back this up nor to take my search further :(
