Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / Chipping Norton Burial Records
« on: Saturday 31 December 11 14:06 GMT (UK)  »
I have found 2 deaths of William Edinborough on the BMD in 1841

1841 Q1 William Edinborough V16  p34 Chipping Norton
1841 Q3 William Edinborough V16  p30 Chipping Norton

I believe one may be my ancestor but which one should I order.
On the 1841 Census for Over Norton there is a William Edinbro age 75 as the Census was not carried out until 6th June he could be either one registered.

Does anyone please have access to the Oxfordshire Burial Records to enable me to order possibly the correct death certificate?

My ancestor was John Adair born about 1781-5 at Chapel Allerton near Wells, Somerset. Information obtained from his Army Records and Census.

Has anyone got access to the Baptism records or tell where to find them, for Chapel Allerton.

Hoping you can help me

Are there any photographs of the Headstones at Carnwath Churchyard. My wifes ancestors are buried there.

James Scott died on 4 October 1812 at Carluke aged 78; he is buried in Grave 290 at Carluke Churchyard. James was the Minister at Carluke for almost 50 years.

His wife Janet Scott (nee Hamilton) died on 11 ??? 1791 at Carluke aged 59; she is buried in Grave 291 at Carluke Churchyard.

London and Middlesex / Please find my Grandma in 1901
« on: Wednesday 21 April 10 16:59 BST (UK)  »
My Grandmother was Elizabeth Mackness and she lived in Islington. My Grandfather William Mackness was away in South Africa.
She should be with their 2 children, Edith May born 1899 and William born July 1900.

Elizabeth's illegitimate son George Hamilton is living with the Nuttall family in Islington.

She may be in hidding as on William's Army records he has Edith down as next of kin. I have searched just using Christian names with no luck, I am hoping a few more pairs of eyes will find her.

I am trying to find out what happened to my wife's relative as the family do not know.

My wife's ancestor James Finlayson Dawson with his wife Jane we believe went to Canada on 6 August 1937 on the Ship Athenia from Glasgow to Quebec and Montreal. He was a carpenter.

Any help would be appreciated.

London and Middlesex / Monumental Inscriptions

Is there a link for the Monumental Inscriptions for those people buried in the actual churchyard of The Holy Trinity Church, Brompton Road.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea cemeteries record office found no record of the burial of my ancestor buried there in 1857. There records only cover the main cemetery.

« on: Monday 23 November 09 16:48 GMT (UK)  »
My Paternal relative was Thomas Edinburgh he was a Tallow Chandler he died at home in Islington on 20 August 1857 and was buried on 26 August at The Holy Trinity Cemetery, Brompton Rd, Kensington.

Why go all that way to be buried.

Is there a record of the Monumental Inscriptions at Holy Trinity?
