Can someone please help by looking at this with fresh eyes?
I have been looking for the birth certificate of my grandmother for some time. What makes it confusing is that her surname changes on certificates/census returns: -
1881 census- Eyemouth
William Collin, M, 26, Head, b'place Eyemouth
Rebecc Collin, M, 25, wife, b'place Berwick, England
Mary Ann Mc Lean [Collin],

Rebecca Mc Lean, M, 76, Mother in Law, visitor
1901 Marriage cert: -
Mary Ann Clym Collin, 26yrs
1943 Death cert: -
Mary Ann Barnes - parents William Collin and Rebecca Collin, m.s. Clyne
I think I have tracked down the births of her mother and uncle in the Berwick R.C. register at the Archives but there is something strange about the dates unless Rebecca was born elsewhere and eventually baptised in Berwick: -
Rebecca Clyne - 25 Jan 1857; mother - Rebecca Dogherty
Michael Clyne - 5 Jun 1857; parents Michael Clyne and Rebecca Clyne [Dogherty].
I do hope someone can shine a light on some of this.
