Hello from Canada.  Thank you all for the information.  I am not very familiar with all the sources in the UK so the links you have posted will be very helpful.

Hello from Canada,  Thank you everyone, you have helped quite a bit.   Did the children marry?    I am following the Arlidge family from Jacob, b:1777, trying to do both male and female descendants.  In this case Elizabeth Arlidge married Thomas Siddall.   Their son Thomas Arlidge Siddall  I did find in the 1891 census.

My GGgrandmother's  maiden name was recorded as Goulty / Goutly  in her marriage record.  On the birth certificate of a child her name was recorded as Mary Ann Agar Arlidge formerly Goulty.  However, on a memorial card from her funeral her name is given as Mary Ann Agar (wife of Benjamin Arlidge.)   Do I assume from this that her maiden name was Agar and that she had been married to a Goulty before she married Arlidge?  I do have a birth certificate for a Mary Ann Agar and her date of birth plus the age given at time of death of the Mary Ann Agar wife of Arlidge lead me to believe they are the same person. Is this a reasonable assumption?
