Durham / Re: George Hobson lookup please!

Hi- I'm currently researching the life of a WWI soldier who enlisted with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force as a Trooper with the Canterbury Mounted Rifles and was killed in action at Gallipoli on 31st May, 1915. His name was Frank Elliot Hobson, and he was born at Newcastle-on-Tyne, Durham, November 28, 1886. He emigrated to NZ in 1906 with his older brother George, and they became successful farmers, each owning his own land near Nelson. I believe Frank was the son of George Robinson Hobson and his wife Hannah nee Wall, and a grandson of the Harperley Mill George Hobson discussed here.

I'd just like to clarify if possible the details of the grandfather who raised Frank's grandfather (Michael Hobson? occupation?), and the names of his parents (Michael Jnr and Margaret?) If Margaret, was she Margaret Robinson? It was common to give a first son the father's christian name along with the maiden name of either the paternal or maternal grandmother, hence perhaps George Robinson Hobson (Frank's father.)

Any help much appreciated!
